Found this picture of last years group that cruised down to the thirdgen round up from Houston IT WAS FUN . Hope to have more or atleast the same amount this time.



Are there any other Houston area guys who wish to cruise down together. There is about 4 of us at the moment.

would like to ride with yall again where when i live in pasadena i have the 85 blue iroc that drove up with the group the last two years i will be in the 85 iroc and my 2011 black with iom striped vert 2ss/rs will most likely have my wife in it since it has ac and easyer to drive

 

sound good, I have a hard time fitting my whole family in my third gen for all but the shortest of trips, and this does NOT qualify. Just remember only Third gen park in the show area, all other cars park in the regular parking lot

mine is down right now as we speak. rear end axle bearings are gone. hoping i can get some and put them in. they are bad. cant afford axles. ill keep all updated.

 

Lost 2 rear studs, got to fix them on the RS.

 

i just gotta get my tune updated. got some new wheels. since my old nitto dr are gone.
gonna be in my ss.

 

CAR IS STILL DOWN!!!!! well pulled the rear axles out-no biggie-. getting the old bearings and seals out ( biatch ). put the first repair bearing in and it didnt seat all the way flush. pulled it back out. then after destroying it found it was not suppose to seat all the way flush. ok. cleaned the axles down farther so the new seal would have a good place to ride. then the spiders fell out while doing all this. getting them lined back up to put the locking pin back in is a whole nother story. got all this done and the squeak was gone. BUT!!!!!!!! now i have found that there is a slight grinding noise in the tail housing in the transmission. next project is to get the car off the ground and take the tailhousing all apart. that is a going to be a project in itself. so for now she is still down.

 

been up since 6 this morning. SHE IS ON THE ROAD. removed the driveshaft and ground the yoke down some. ( ls1 ) driveshaft. put her back in and all seems to be well. keepin my fingers crossed.

the good luck is no longer in play. she is up on jackstands until i can locate the noise that i believe is in the tranny. got the tailhousing off and it is still making a noise. so as of now she is down again. if it is the tranny that needs to be fixed i am thinking it will stay down for a while.

 

well things have gone to the worst. SHE IS DOWN. unless i can swing a trans rebuild she is out of the round up. *&(%T%%$#$$%$%$@$#!^%

Trying to find time to replace the studs in the 89 RS and figure out why the 86 TA has a dead battery....again. 4th time, thought I fixed it and. Ow it happened again after a while.

 

come on zane get those studs in. on the dead battery do you have a test light?? remove neg batt cable and put it between that and the batt. start unhooking things.

 

kinda hope there was going to be. well ill bring my gfx the spoiler for an 82-84 camaro..hope i dont get in trouble

 

if you have some parts you want to sell bring them. im sure someone will need them. but remember that most wont be carrying a lot of cash though.

she is on the ground. bushing installed. tailhousing redone and back on. park brake cables fixed. got some more work to do to her tomorrow and then to do a drive around. will keep everyone updated.

 

i thought the tranny was out?
if it's going, congrats!

 

after talking to several people a someone that builds trannies. if you spin the driveshaft backwards like in reverse without pressure the front sparg will squeak. found my rear bushing in the tailhousing was very worn which was allowing the driveshaft to move around quite abit. gotta get to the rest of the suspension. we are going to go with it for right now. after i get the rest done tomorrow and then put a bunch of weight in the car and drive it. if it squeaks still im gonna drive it till it breaks.

 

put her back in the air today due to a squeak still being there. was ready to drop the transmission. removed the dust cover and WALLA!!!!! FOUND IT!!!!! 1 converter bolt missing and another loose. put in new ones. reinstalled cover and went for a drive.

NO MORE SQUEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lance, you and your car went several rounds hah. Its good to hear that you got it all squared away, and with several days to spare as well.

As for the houston guys cruising up, I normally participate in that but not this year. I live about 4 exits south of the meet location. This location is in a bad place for many Texans but its just perfect for me.

 

How come your not on the list? When is the last time the list was updated?

Weekend forecast for Lake Conroe.... high of 88, with clouds (no rain) If that hold, we couldn't ask or expect better weather. It's going to be a great day!

 

I'm going to be at the track the friday before if anyone is coming down early and wants to get some passes in. Either sealy or RPR, would be cool to have more than one third gen at the track at one time

 

the list this year has been really had to keep. We've got people that have sound us on facebook, there's a thirdgen nation list, and a list here. People drop out, people decide to come, and that's just the way it goes.

As it is, I'd be shocked if it was less than 30 and I'm thinking 50 or more is possible
