No worries - being named Mike Smith truly does make you hard to find.... You can't just google me on the internet, there are too many of us.

I am planning on coming. I was about to bail on the trip, but i got the car out yesterday and that pushed me over the edge. I did pull a muscle in my back this weekend so I am not looking forward to sitting in that car all day, but no pain no gain!!!

We had shirts embroidered for the main directors of the roundup, but we are considering opening up the sales to anybody that would want them. I think they are incredible sharp. If anybody is interested in getting a great shirt at a great price (probably less $40 or less depending if we have to ship it) let us know in a PM or in person on Saturday. If anybody knows what quality embroidery cost, this a bargain.

I just realized the logo might look a little big in the pic, but it looks different on a normal sized shirt. My wife is modeling it, and it's a size small. A man wearing a normal shirt would bring it more to a proportional size

 

Well, got two new studs on the 89 RS, but the rear is popping when i drive, like catching. I will investigate further tomorrow.

those are the basic details for the thirdgen round up.

The only other event we are planning is the Bear Creek meet in August.

 

I'm hoping to get the info on the car show plaques today. If we can get the plaques, we'll have some awards

 

Anyone have a Firebird driver-side fender they want to sell and would be willing to take to the roundup?

tgn has helped plan the whole event. not sure what the difference is in who did what. we are all working on it and trying to get as many events as well as interest in the whole thing. we are also trying to find or set up a place to take pics during the event as well.

it is planned. a car show is what we are hoping to have with plaques. iirc it is going to be peoples choice awards. so bring out that car and put it in there.

 

K, RS is fixed as of now, had a random part i did not think came apart end up in the drum of the rear....im good now.

Well, that was just a shake down to see if it would break, the launch vid is playing at the track all motor, LOL.

Narrow two lane road, rear tires spinning to 70, you would be serial face too! LOL

No idea, but the HP calculators come up with 475ish, so reality, 440 or so sounds right.

3. waxed
4. wheels polished
5. tires and underhood plastics shiny
6. changed out pass side tail light and reset seals on both sides and polished
7. interior is next.

That looked like a fun burn out.

I'll be washed, waxed, and detailed as well. However it looks like some of us are hitting the drag strip on friday night, so there is going to be some tire debris on the rear of the car.

My 23 year old starter gave it up today, now I know what the battery drain was! Lol
Can't believe it didn't last any longer! Hahaha

 

I bought a new starter today too. I might have it on before saturday, but mostly I bought it just because I didn't know how old the one that was one there was, and it doesn't want to fire over unless the battery is fully charged. I think that's a sign of a weak solenoid

Got a couple small things I want to do, but for the most part my car is ready to go. Now I can start getting everything that is roundup related loaded up. I've got a long check list of things that I cannot forget to bring.

Well,
I got to put some miles on my camaro last night! I drove it up north of Durant, Oklahoma to pick up my dad.
It was almost a 200 mile round trip there & back, one of the cool things it used a little over a half a tank of gas!
So i Guess it is road worthy to drive on longer distance trips NOW.............
I think that this is the furthest I have drove the car at one time since I have had it (almost 11 years), & now I will put some more miles this weekend!
