can anyone in the DFW area help??

first time posting on the swmg board...never saw it before...anywho, ive got an 86 SC that ive been tinkering with for about a month, as it is also my daily driver, so it has to get me to and from work, and i was wondering if there was anyone in the area who might be willing to help me out with it...i havent ever taken any auto shop classes or anything, so im pretty much learning as i go, but i pick up stuff pretty quickly...the things that i am going to do in the next month include the following:

new KYB shocks and struts
change the belts
brake job (need help with this one)
new dynomax exhaust system

and thats all ive got planned, but as i said, im still learning, and would really appreciate if someone would be willing to help me out and teach me a little bit...thanks in advance!

I can't help you do this, since I'm working ~60hrs per week now. But I can tell ya, I learned everything from reading the Haynes manual. Brakes are about the easiest thing you can do, shocks/struts arent all that bad either. I'd recommend to go out and buy a Chilton's book from O'Rielly's. Just be confident.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to learn as I go
with my 83' Z. Luckily, I know a guy that will let me use his tools and his garage/driveway to work on my car. It's currently sitting there waiting for me to put on a new power steering and water pump..this crappy weather doesnt exactly have me motivated to work on the car either.

Havent seen too many other 3rd gens here in Plano TX - Good Luck!

I left my tools in Houston, but if you get in too deep shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you a hand. A Chilton's manual will help a lot. I'm sure everyone on the board would be willing to clarify any instructions you have ?'s about.
