Went to towers last night......no 3rd gens besides me sadly....

Some guy came up to me and talked about my car though, said he had one just like it and he was tempted to do the LT1 swap like mine had.

thanks for the complements guys! - actually its in Alva, right by the locks on the north side of the river. - I'll be lucky if I've even got to start working on it buy March 4th. This land barge is going on a major diet. I'm tired of blowing trannies out on the ground/I wanna go 10's all motor...then spray it!

I'm not giving up my a/c, pwr windows/locks, etc, so I'm going full-frame and eliminating ALL unibody structure. As it stands, 4161 w/ me(160 at the time) and a 1/2 tank, I intend on being down to around 3k

I've actually never been there (Moroso). How expensive is it to drive in and tear down the strip? What's it like for a day and is there any sort of longer-term races of several laps around or is it all 1/4 mile type deals?

ahhhh, Moroso Motorsports Park, the most azz-backward track in the world. the first half of track is asphalt, the rest is concrete... - ever wonder why your 60fts suck?

92transam16

- I wish the car could be done by then...unfortunately, other projects have to come first...hopefully I'll be started by then though...

Mateo-
You should have let me know....I would have met you up there. Then at least there would have been two of us....

Lack of showing does not surprise me though, when I proposed a meeting on January 20, no one showed - I was the only person. t least I ate good at Fanagin's

It seems every year Moroso gets worse. Track prep never seems to be consistant and I think they forget they even have VHT.

I can hook in the rain and I can't BUY traction at Moroso.... I go from 1.6X 60fts to 1.8X...

yeah Alva is small. I actually don't live in the town area though. I'm actually closer to the Riverdale area, but I'm on the north side of the river.

Hmmmm, where abouts on Cypress Creek Road and what time? I drive it every day and I live near it, but I do not recall seeing anything matching that description...

I will have to keep an eye out. I am usually going westbound along that same section in the morning and eastbound in the evening....

I do not usually drive my Z to work because I am afraid of some idiot hitting it during the commute, so I am typically incognito in my Blazer.

autocrossing is in north fort myers they have a 1 mile course, its really fun. if you go on saturday, it $20 to run all day, that includes school and lunch, not bad price to pay i think!

nah man I just hate dealing with a swap that requires electronics... I also hate dealing with FWD cars... and unibodies for that matter... HAHA

*cut out 3 paragraphs of ranting about life and cars being obnoxious and not having a garage or driveway, etc*

yet someone else who's afraid of "the black box"...
- A TPI 4x4 Tahoe and a blown TPI 4x4 suburban would probably scare the crap out of ya then, huh? Electronics are simple. Besides, he could be just swapping the motor and running his factory ecu/harness...

ive seen the messes that truly radical swaps make(3.8 in place of a 2.8/3.1, 3400 in that same spot, electronically controlled 4 speed tranny) tracking down wiring errors are not fun... add in the general hassle of doing a swap in the first place on fwd cars... grrr, add in 92 degree weather, sunshowers, red ants, and no decent breeze and have to crawl around in the dirt while your working makes for a very annoying place to do anything(i did a full trim swap, and half of a motor swap before I gave up due to issues[hydraulic jack on the engine lift breaking was last straw] had the junkyard haul the parts car off, 40 when it was basically stripped, only paid 100$ though.)

I dont have the luxury of a driveway, or garage, or shop for that matter, to work in.

Thats why I make sure not to have any "wiring errors". I also wire as good as, if not better, than factory wiring. Solder and heat shrink everything, route through factory looms, etc...

burnieslo - a good buddy of mine works at a body/paint shop off of cargo dr. They have a frame machine, and they do excellent paint work.
- When I had my accident in my car(several years ago) Gene's, off metro, pulled the frame square...(slight tweak by steering box)
