T56 in my GTA
Well, I guess it's a good thing I decided not to sell my GTA. My 700R4 is acting up. Twice now I have gone out to it and pulled out of the drive and it won't come out of first gear. I work in a garage, part-time, and my boss told me to stomp on the gas with the key off several times, then retry it. Well, that works great, but that's not a permanent fix. On top of that, my torque convertor jumps in and out of lock up after 30 minutes of driving. Works fine on the highway to work, then when I slow to 45-55, it starts acting up. A minute after that, it won't lock up at all.
To make a long story longer, I am sick of this automatic transmission crap. I can rebuild it by myself for $200-$250, but then I'll still have a slush box pice of junk that can't handle any real power. For another $300 I can put a shift kit, corvette servo, 13 vane pump and upgraded steels/clutches. That's $500. A standard transmission is more fun though. If I'm gonna pull the auto, I may as well keep going and swap in a T56.
Anybody got a complete set-up for sale?
