Danger in AZ!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I have been here for just over two years and had my first incident yesterday. Got home from work at about 5pm and had about an hour so I decided to change my front brake pads. Opened the back hatch, grabbed my tool set (Craftsman in the grey plastic box) and started to loosen up the lugs with the 1/2" ratchet and 19mm socket. Well, the ratchet felt warm, not blazing, but pretty warm. Got the brakes done and noticed that my index finger was a little sore. After scrubbing the crud off of my hands, saw that I had blisters on two joints of the three on each finger. So beware of leaving your tools in the back of the 'maro 'cause it gets fricken hot! Like I said, they were warm, but the pressure exerted and the steady heat burned me. Not that I am a dumb @ss, but boy did I learn a lesson. On the good side, at 6:30pm I got to give a safety lesson to my Boy Scouts! Guess this gives me ammo to get the windows tinted!

On the topic of heat:

If you carry fix-a-flat in your car, put a sock over it with a rubber band. The heat will expand the contents of the can, and it could explode and leave a nice, sticky mess all over.

LOL! I just replaced the speakers in the car with my tools from my back hatch, and my hands feel raw as crap! They feel burned. Arizona summer heat sucks! Eric

Yep, I've lived in AZ almost my whole life! Some of things you should have with you in EVERY car you own is a gallon or two of clean water and a pair of gloves, maybe some sunblock.. oh yea, a spool of bailing wire and some pliers come in handy too
