Open Exhaust -- CO Danger?

I'm running (Temporary) open stock exhaust manifolds. I'm in the process of adding complete header/exhaust system.

In the interim, is there a serious CO danger driving the car like this? Most driving is interstate at 70 mpg for a 85 mile one way commute. I drive with the windows down. I understand I'm asking for a ticket, but was wondering if any damage to myself or the car can occur.

Thanks!!

Ive always heard that fuel injection needs a little backpressure to function correctly. I dont know if this is true or if it will cause damage to the motor, but I wouldn't risk it or risk getting a ticket either.

As far as CO, if your windows are down I imagine you have sufficient ventilation.

I have heard that you can burn the valves on a car with shorty headers or manifolds without any pipes. Don't know for sure but have been told this

The car has a carb, and I've heard that you can damage valves as well.

There is a higher risk of CO hurting you b/c the open windows cause a vaccuum making exhaust 'roll' into the passenger compartment from underneath...between engine damage and that risk i think i would park it...but as long as you don't pass out close to me on the interstate, i guess it's up to you

I have seen one case of burnt valves with a vehicle with open manifolds, but did the open manifolds cause the problem? One can only speculate. I would assume it to be in your best intrest in more ways than one to park it until you can get it all together.
No sense in taking chances. Plus annoying the Sound Police is no fun either....
