I don't think you would have to change them as long as CA is still your primary residence. But if you have an Arizona licnese, an Arizona adress and a CA plate, you might get in some trouble.

You dont have to get AZ plates if you are NOT a resident. If you accept employment in AZ, you have to get an AZ license and plates. You then become a resident of Arizona. The fine is $484.00 plus court cost (the last time I checked). I deal with this stuff on a daily basis.

I like that plate. If you dont get it, I will when my plates come up in Feb.

DMV can be acessed on line. You can do renewals on the internet but for first time AZ plates you will have to go down to one of the locations and get an inspection.

Oh yeah, you have to smog. Usually if you change your O2 sensor and maybe your plugs, you should pass. If not, get ready to put up some money to get it fixed.

The initial inspection at the liscnese plate place is for safety I think. Then you have to take it to an emmisions place for the smog test.

Also and fyi. I have had two cars, including the camaro, fail the gas cap pressure test. Save your self some time. If you gas cap is old get a new one before you go for the test.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention about that part. All they do is ensure that the numbers match the registration. At least here on base, that is all they did. Then on to the smog. I hope you pass on your first try. Just listen to what others have to say, like the gas cap, and you should be fine. Good call, Bill.

you won't be able to get it. i applied for RICEETR and DMV said no plates with the word rice in it. i know, it sux

alos, if you are a student here in AZ you can have out of state plates. just need something to show proof if you get pulled over. go to GCC, sign up for a class thats once a week, get your student ID, then drop out.

I am just telling you what they told me. I know some people have gotten away with it and some haven't. I know about 3 of my friends that have been denied of it lately, but some people that got anti-rice plates long ago were approved.
