Hey guys my car got broken into today in tha afternoon. they broke my window and mest up my stearing colum since they tried to steal it but failed. probley cause of thaa lil key thing hehe. but anyaways i was wondering if u guys knew of any shop that fixes windows for cheap and also where i can get my stering colum fixed again cause well u got to do certain steps now to turn my car on. thanks

 

I don't know of any shops that do windows, you may want to see who your insurance company recommends. I realize it probably isn't covered by your policy, just most insurance places have a recommended shop.

Your best bet on the column is to replace the whole thing. Grab one out of a junk yard and swap it.

 

werd... try a local junk yard.. its easier then u think.. so dont rule it out... who know. u may find a windshield there in good condition as well now t take it off/install it will be the tricky part... but i would jsut call around.. who knows.. u can get 1 of those places and get 12 free dinners

well i got tha window fixed so thats a plus im goin to tint it today. now i just need tha colum to fix, it still has is hole right there when i drive to tha drive tru they give me a weird look lol

 

If you have a tilt column you should be able to buy rebuild kit for it for like $50, [if its a straight column Good luck] (my car was broken into, i contacted everyone i could the dealership, NAPA, UPullit J-Yards no one had a Non-tilt Column rebuild kit) yea and the thieves were so dumb they couldnt steal the CD player :rockon: There were a few j-yards that had the rebuild kit, but Chevy should have them as well. that is if your into taking it apart. fairly simple considering you dont have to yank the column.

 

yah im goin to have to buy tha kit then, and drive tha car to california this weekend since im on vacation now for a week. I got no tools here in Phx so ill just have to wait till i get home back in cali. thanks on tha info i dident know they had a rebuild kit for it ill make sure to look for one and do it myself then. hope it comes wit instructions lol:sillylol:

 

too bad it didnt happen about a month ago I had a steering column laying around out of a 3rd gen that I woulda donated to you.

 

If your coming to california.. Sacramento area, I'll do it at our shop no problem. If they busted up the outter shell of that column then your not gonna buy a 50 dollar kit to fix it to my knowledge.

 

yah i would have wished it had happend a month ago too hehe that way they wouldent have taked my amp i had in there. and 90 formula thanks for tha offer but im not goin that far up im in Bakersfield, but thanks anyways
