Where did you get it from? Did you go to that place I told you about? Hopefully the last tranny didn't curse your car for this one....

i put the tranny in and it works great. but..

so we went out for a test drive and i was racing everything that pulled up next to me. So i get on the highway racing this civic, and then the car just died. i coasted off the highway and pulled over to the side of the road. I tried to start it....it would start, but as soon as i would give it any gas, it dies immediately. Anyone know what this can be? i have looked everywhere for vacum leaks but i cant find any. If i put my hand over the throttlebody it will stay running just barely, but if i try to give it any gas at all it just bogs out and dies. i could really use some help guys. any ideas?

Ooo...gee...didn't think I'd be right....sorry....I have no idea what that could be, my old Bronco II did that and I fixed it by getting rid of the piece of #$%&

(Don't take my advice though, yours wasn't a FORD...)

yah i got the tranny from a guy off the azfbody classifieds. man i was having fun. i haven't been able to drive it for like 4 months. first time i took it out for a test drive, this pontiac grand prix GTP turns the coner with me, then nails it. so i punched it and started pullin on him. we kept catching green lights for awhile...he would come up next to me, we'd both nail it...and i would just pull away. so we finally catch a light. he opens his door (i was on his left) and tells me his window is broke. then he says, "man you keep whooping my ***". then he says "finally a red light..."
so i get the revs up a lil bit, light goes green, and i just murdered him off the line and kept pulling. we raced at a couple more lights with the same results.

then i raced this 70's malibu. it sounded pretty tough but he didnt have nothin. then i raced some chevy truck with a supercharger or somethin. we were both gettin off the highway on higley going north, i was in the right lane and he was in the left lane, and he tries to go passed me. his truck was faast, he started pullin on me, the i started pullin back at about 40mph, then he slows down and turns into home depot. i was pretty pissed, i wanted to race him from a light. probably one of the fastest trucks ive raced.

then finally, turning onto gilbert from southern coming home, i see a couple sets of blue headlights turning with me. one was a civic and the other was an accord or a integra...i couldnt tell. so they start pacing me. i give it a lil gas and the civic gets behind me, right on my ***, then he gets in the right lane and we both nail it. sad to say, he started pulling on me. then the light at the 60 turns red and they both get over to get on the freeway. my friend james yells to them "lets go!!", but the guy said he had to get home, so the other car yells out lets go, and he stays back so i can cutt on to the highway. so the civic takes off, then i take off, i blew by him this time.....

then, i feel the car start to die out....i try to give it gas and it just starts cutting out......every time i give it gas! then it just dies. i coasted all the way to mesa drive, and pulled it aroung the corner onto holmes rd. i tried to start it...it started up...then started stumbling....then died. i ended up being pulled home by james accord.

i don't know what to do. i am thinkin maybe fuel injectors or something. any ideas will help.

sorry for such a long post. jus havent been able to drive in awhile, and tonight was pretty fun...till it died.

man my sig says it all...

Sounds like your fuel pump or maybe the filter is clogged. Put a pressure tester on it.

i have alot of tools, but no air tools.

you seriously want to help? my roommate is my mechanic...so there would be atleast 3 of us working on it. He has alot of tools.

how long you think it would take us? We have to drop the exhaust, rearend, and tank right? If you would help out, just let me know when would be a good time. I really need my car.

Took me 4 hours on my own. The rear has to be lowered, not removed. The exhaust will be the tough part.

Make sure you get a new screen a pulsator and a new filter.

GL!

its not hard,i dont mind helpin,im weird,i love working on cars, i guess its a good thing since i go tos chool for it. if ur exhaust is bolted on onto the cat,its easy, but mine was welded, its a flowmaster catback...so had to cut it off...but tis ok,cause my cats clogged,so im gonan take it off, just get a straight pipe and a cutout or a highflow cat anyways. but yeah, ill help. when you wanna do it?

Hey, I'm not too keen on replacing fuel pumps, so I'd be about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine, but I wouldn't mind being there so I know how the process works. Yeah, as a matter of fact, if I can get an invite to the pump party that'd be super! Get a chance to meet some of you guys if nothing else...

You probly have a good chunk of something in your fuel line or gas tank of somewhere and it finally freed up. Had that happen in my old pickup truck. Also had a rock get caught in the accelerator line...that was scary...
