Car: currently thirdgenless!!!
They said police were looking into whether on not speed was a factor. But they did not specualte on racing. They didn't sound like that was the case. It was at 7th and Thomas this morning @ 7 or 8 o'colck. None of the witnesses mentioned racing.
It was a white Camaro RS. Probably 90-92. Did not get a good look at the ground fx.
Sounded like it was the fault of the Camaro. Not real sure though.

Couple killed in car accident

An elderly couple lost their lives in a violent traffic accident this morning. The wreck occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Thomas Road and Seventh Street.
Police are trying to determine if street racing is to blame.
Investigators said they are weighing whether an 18-year-old driver was racing another vehicle north on Seventh Street when his Camaro struck a station wagon carrying the elderly couple.
"The older lady in the blue car, she came flying out of the blue car," said Kevin Johnson, explaining he was shocked at what he saw as he drove through the intersection.
"We seen a car get hit and another car was driving fast and hit the car and, boom, smacked it around and a lady came out," he said.
The body of the woman thrown from the car remained at the accident scene throughout the morning. A man driving the vehicle as it collided with the Camaro was thrown into the back of the small station wagon.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The 18-year-old driver of the Camaro was shaken up but uninjured as he was questioned by police.
"We are investigating the possibility the Camaro was drag racing with another vehicle," said Tony Morales with the Phoenix Police Department. "One witness says he appeared to be drag racing, but we don't know for sure but we are looking into it."
Witness Ward Russell said the impact of the two vehicles was horrendous.
As the investigation into this morning's accident continues, fire department officials think they already know what could have helped those who lost their lives.
"It's very possible the death could have been prevented with seat belts, having seat belts on, it keeps you inside the vehicle where you're supposed to be," Morales said.

Really sad to see. Just ONE MORE THING that they get to point fingers at young people in sports cars. I remember when I had my truck. I could have probly gotten away with playing bumper-tag with a cop....
