Mini S/W Region Gathering!!

Well, not really, but had a few people over today to help me remove my intake manifold and swap out my radiatior! List includes me, Tony C., Snflupigus, GearDrive63, ShwartzCamaroRS, and SCRS's roomate (Honorable mention: azvolfan & ShiftyCapone). Keep in mind everyone that I know VERY little about removal of an intake manifold (hense why I called everyone I could think of) so this ended up being a 11:30am until 1:00am project!! Results were incredible though! My car hasn't had this much throttle response in a year and a half, and I couldn't even believe the fact that my car didn't his 220* (old running temp before new rad.), let alone not even 180*!! Anywho, I'll get some pics of the before/after stuff as soon as I can...

Hey man I'm next. I got the intake sitting on the work bench. Painted purple and waiting to go on.

Bruce, you gonna give me a hand with it. Tony will if he is in town and has time. Anybody else want to join the party?

You bet Bill! Hopefully now that I know what to do it won't take 13 hours to do.

And like I said before, I knew next to NOTHING about pulling an intake manifold off. Thats one reason it took as long as it did. On top of that, I wasn't exactly on marithon mode to get my car finished. It was nice to be under the hood with a bunch of buds for a change...

And to answer your question, I re-used my old one. The whole reason for this little excursion was so I could clean out the intake manifold and drop in a new radiator. If you could have seen what my manifold looked like under the thermostat houseing before I cleaned it.......you'd of though someone had tossed their cookies inside of it. Rusted to all hell. Granted I know that I couldn't have gotten all the rust out of the system, but I at least know that this will get me through the rest of the hotter days, and my car can hold out till I get a new daily driver and REALLY start taking this thing apart

Well, after today at work, it might be the same situation for me, too..

I'll have to get back to you on that, I forgot what my schedual looks like. Maybe Fri next week, I'm off Fri & Sat. but I'd rather do it on Friday. That work for you?

Well, looks like my schedual is WIDE open now!
So yeah, the 1st works, or anywhere inbetween. We going to be doing this INSIDE your garage, right bill? If thats the case I can't imagine noon being a problem...

You got it. Inside the garage. With epoxy coated floors, 6ft workbench and nastalgic signs on the walls.

I will provide the beverages of choice. Let me know what you want.

So how did your intake turn out?
