If you get the Felpro gasket kit ($14.99 AutoZone), it will come with the 2 manifold gaskets, as well as a distributor gasket. So that base is covered. Also, it does come with a small bottle of RTV, but you're gonna need more, so grab some of that. Get the black kind. Do you have a GOOD power drill? If not, I will bring mine, and we need to get some special sanding bits to makes sure we get EVERY speck of gasket off your engine. I also have some spray-on gasket remover that works really well that I'll bring. If you want, when I get to your place we can make a run to AutoZone...

A brewski for Bruceki?

don't forget to get a bunch of paper shop towels to stuff down in the intake ports of the heads while you're cleaning up the gasket surfaces.

Thanks... I couldn't get it to fit together. If you don't have a shop vac let me know and I'll bring mine. Also, do you have a timing light?

I have a shop vac and a timing light. But it's just an average timing light. It's not one of those fancy ones with the adjustable **** on it.

Yep, or a dremel to polish up the gasket surface to make sure there aren't any remnants of the old gasket. I did mine with a dremel and 2 cutoff wheels attached together. They lasted longer that way.

You'll need a steel ruler to check and make sure the suface is clean.

I'm flying in in 2 weeks for the weekend, will spend 1 weekend and then 1 whole week in Phoenix in Nov. Christmas is looking a bit lonely but other than that..

The 80 hasn't even been out of the garage. I should have used this time while the 91 is in the shop to work on the manifold, but it's still a little warm here. That, and I don't have a couple bud's that can come over on a beer's notice and help me out, yet.

Chris

I can bring my dremel and the little wire brush thing for it. I don't see why you couldn't get it all off with a scraper.

If it was one solid flat surface without little holes everywhere, then sure...but let me tell you it makes it a $@%& load easier with something to grind it away...

I also have the sanding/polishing wheels for a drill if that's what you're talking about.

Wouldn't you have to put some scoddle skeet on there to keep it from leaking?
