Can ne1 help me weld on some tips....I'm broke!!
I'll buy you a lunch from Wendy's or Subway or whatever and take you in a ride in the world's fatest '91 Trans Am. You guys ever rode in a 3rd gen before. Kidding!
Anyway, most places charge $20 per weld and won't line them up correctly. I don't have $40 to blow at least not for a couple more weeks, but I need something to do to this car other than radiator flushes and washing it's horrible paint
. Is anyone on here a welder or have access to one in the East Valley? I'm at Alma School and Baseline. I just got my Z28 4th gen exhaust tips that were supposed to be clamp on, but they won't fit the muffler pipes, same diameter. Please let me know. I really appreciate it.
Thanks, Kevin

Not yet, I can't wait that's fer sure. However, I have to cut 3-4" of the stock pipe first. I don't have any leverage with the hacksaw, so I might just be going to a shop anyway. But I will post pics of course.

I don't mean to leave you hanging at all. I just can't figure out how to cut these pipes back w/o going to a shop that's all. Can you cut the pipes with your welder? After I called you on Sunday night, I forgot that little step. Let me know.
cut the pipe with the welder?!?!?!? what is it made out of. I have a dewalt sawzall that will cut just about anything... up to and including 91 RS's down to managable pieces

That's what cats look like without their tail cut off.
I only have to remember what they look like 1 day a year.A sawsall is more than enough to cut the exhaust. You could even use a jigsaw with a large blade, or a cutting wheel. The last time I had to cut exhaust was when I first bought my car and the previous owner welded the "Big Wazoo" tips from Jegs (4" diameter) onto the exhaust. I cut those off with my little dremel. Took over an hour.
And this is a lesson in why you should always buy the right tools.
