Should I sell or keep?
Okay cats and kittens, I just got my AC working and my brain tells me to sell this thing. It's reliable, needs a few things, but nothing major or anything. But my heart says keep it, you'll regret it and you owe nothing on it, so nothing to lose but fun and memories. Just fix those little things, keep the mileage low and tint and paint the thing.
However, I feel like I'm living in the past. I've had 4 3rd gen Firebirds since I was 17. I'm turning 25 next month and I really REALLY miss my GTP (see my name). I can get one of course, but I don't need 2 cars.
What should I do? It's like I broke up with a great girl to be with an old girlfriend for a weekend, but realized what I had with the new girlfriend was better, more stable, and more fun.
^^^^Does that sound crazy?
Give me your honest opinions, not what car can do what faster. I've had both and I am well aware of both cars limitations and abilitlies.
Thankyou!!!

I would say it depends on what you need. Do you need a more dependable car? Obviously a newer car will give you that. I would think with any car one owns they will grow attatched to it. I can tell you from experience and it sounds like you already know your going to miss that car man, your going to miss it bad. I had a s10 before my bird about 2 years ago, and everytime i see a white one drive by it hits me lol.
I would say look around and see what you can find with another GTP if thats what you want. If you find a good deal or if they are in your price range sell her, but only sell her to someone you know will take good care of her. Thats my 2cents

I think anyone who works on (hot rods) cars needs two cars. It keeps you from having to do large jobs in one weekend, because you *know* you're going to find something broken and no store in town has it in stock.

Thanks guys, and I wouldn't sell it to just anybody. Only to someone who is willing to give it a nice home and finish the job I have started. The car runs perfect but just has some issues that need to be addressed, but I feel like using it as my daily driver isn't smart. Not that it's a classic or that it will fall apart, but it's definately a rare bird that shouldn't get 60+ miles put on him everyday to drive me around. You know?
I found a loaded '99 Silver GTP just like my old one, except mine was white and this one has a moonroof with 65K miles for $8k at a Nissan Dealership.
I'm not putting my car up for sale yet or anything, but what is a good price for it? Assuming all it needs is paint and some little things like turn signals and the horn fixxed? $4k? I paid $3k for it w/o AC, stripped 215 tires, a broken tranny mount.
However I do like the idea of 2 cars, one is the play car, and the other is for business. You guys decide which one is which.

Take it from me, seeing a few thirdgen'rs that have given up their beloved cars, and then hate life afterwards. Snflupigus is definitely someone who can vouch. These cars grow on you with a passion. Not too many cars have as big of an effect on someone. Heck, my camaro has already put me back over 10k in the three years that I've owned it, but I'm not getting rid of her. As a matter of fact, I'll have a 454 daily driver here next week (
) and the camaro is getting a makeover
