Can anyone in Phx Metro help me with burning?

I can supply the chips but that is it. I don't have a PC or the money to buy one for a once or twice chip burn. I asked Synapsis but I think he needs me to supply with the programs and the modified programs which I can not.

I can get a SD-L98 chip and a blank chip, but I need someone else to help with the actual burning. Please help me.....I'm pathetic

All you need is the blank. You can get the chip images from .http://www.moates.net/fileman/.

I know there's gotta be *someone* in Phoenix who burns chips.

I can help you out with that. Do you have a 350 or 305 memcal now? Is this for a stock configuration. If this is for your 91 then you still want the vats enabled? Give me more details on what you are looking for.

I have the stock 305 SD chip, I NEED a chip for a 350, but with 19lb injectors. Can you do that? I don't need to much done other than that. Why I want it that simple, I've seen the differences between the 350 chip and 305 and it's like night and day. Different timing, tq conv lock up rpm, fuel, etc.....

Please let me know.

-Thanks!!

I can burn the 305 SD chip with 350 programing for you. You really should just get a 350 memcal so your limp home mode would work correctly, but you already don't have that so reburning the chip won't change that. Is this your daily driver or could you leave me the memcal for a couple of days?

I'm confused about the limp home mode, if it's in the 350 program, shouldn't it be transfered over as well?

And my car is my daily driver.

Also someone on here said they can give me their stock 350 chip, would that help things or no?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it greatly!

Limp home mode is done in a resistor network. It's hard "coded" into the memcal. If you take the blue cover off your memcal you can see the black prom chip and then the network next to it.

Like Synapsys says the limp home is in the resistor network located on the memcal next to the IC chip. It only comes into play when the computer or the chip fails, alowing the car to run just good enough to get you home. As far as the 350 chip is concerned it is soldered into the memcal and can be removed and replaced with another chip with some work. If you are not experienced at soldering IC chips I do not recomend you trying this. This "350 chip" your friend has, is it a memcal or a IC chip? I don't know what your budget is but you can buy a 350 memcal for about $50.

Sorry to butt in, but would the car run really bad with a 350 chip with his 19lb injectors?

I'm assuming he's selling me the memcal, not anything I'll have to solder. The memcal is what I want right, the thing I can simply snap in and go, right?

Yes, you want the snap in memcal. It should be a AUJP for a 350 auto SD. If you get another memcal, I can reprogram it for 19# injectors while you are still driving with the old memcal. The car would probably drive alright with the 350 memcal but would run very lean in power enrichment mode. Not a good thing. By the way, as long as you have 19# injectors the limp home mode in the 305 chip will actually work better than the 350 chip. It is designed to work with the 19# injectors.

You can reprogram the stock memcal or should I buy a blank?

If you buy a "blank" that is just an IC chip and will require resoldering the new chip into the memcal. I can reprogram your existing memcal.

Someone will sell me their 24Lb LT1 injectors for $80 shipped and the guy is selling me the 350SD memcal for $30 shipped. Is this a good deal? I think so but I have been wrong before.

Or should I deal with the burning, buying a blank chip, getting is soldered on, and then buying an AFPR and installing a gauge?

What should I do? I think the 1st choice is the easiest for both me and you z28Iroc .

The price on the injectors and memcal is pretty good shipped. A 350 memcal is programed for 22# injectors, so you will need to have the memcal reprogrammed anyhow. Replacing the memcal and injectors will give you room to add more performance with future upgrades. My recommendation would be to buy a 350 memcal, IC socket, and EEPROM chip. Install the IC socket/EEPROM chip onto the memcal so that it can be reprogrammed repeatedly (the factory EPROM can usually only be reprogrammed a few times and sometimes not even that) and reprogram it for your current setup. When you have the time and money later you can continue with your upgrade path. To install an AFPR you have to remove the runners and plenum so at that point it would be a good time to install the injectors and any other intake upgrades you can afford.
If you want to buy a chip and socket, I can probably help you out with that and the reprograming.
