where do you guys go? i might rent a compressor and do it myself with the prices out here.

just picked up an 89 TA tpi 305 from a guy in biltmore area, and it looks like he painted it with a bunch of spray cans, and laid it on super thick. id rather do it myself (for now) and work on the fun stuff before i lay out a ton of monies for a paint job.

 

I have a friend who can sell you the paint for cheap. (He sells to most of the bodyshops in the glendale/phoenix area) All you have to do is pick the color.

 

gotta find a place to rent an air compressor first. and sand her all done nice and good.

 

Dont rent one, go to the swap meet and buy one! Believe me, If you own a thirdgen, you are going to need it! LOL!

 

Agreed, swap meet, or you can get one pretty cheap at harbor freight!

Eh... A compressor is a compressor. Your car dosent know/care where the air comes from. I like harbor freight. I have bought many things there. Just dont go out their door thinking "All right! This thing is going to last FOREVER!" LOL!

I have a guy doing my car soon when I get the money for both of my quarter panels and then he will do the paint. He uses PPG and has done cars that sold at Barrett Jackson for a good amount. Seen his work and it is unreal. Can send you his info if you'd like. He work for a lot less than a body shop, too.
