Something to add?

Ok so i was just trying to get some opinions

I would like to fix my interior up, but i looked at my new tires and noticed excessive wear on the outside edge of the fronts.

I know i need new ball joints i can hear them pop once in a while.
I could also use an alighnment pulls to the right.

I was thinking about replacing
Ball joints
Struts/shocks (kyb set from shox.com)
springs (moog stock or ebiach pro)
Lca bracket (if i get the ebiach's)
some poly bushings (sway bar,a arms, endlinks, tranny)
then an alighnment

All that will take me to this semesters budget of $1000 or close to it.

Now would any one recomend anything? Diffrent parts maybe endlinks and other steering componets. If i bought other componets I would have to not buy somthing else. I'm no expert on cars and what is gonna give me the best bang for my buck so i would like some opinions.

Re: Something to add?

If you do all of that, then get the tie rods - Would only set you back a little more, and you will have ALL of the front suspension done.

Re: Something to add?

I agree tie rod ends are usually one of the things that wear out and affect alignment. My Bonneville the shop wouldn't even do alignment because the tie rod end was bad, which they wanted $100+ to replace it (rip off).

A wonderbar made a difference in the steering on my formula. It made it feel much more responsive and tighten'd the steering wheel. It didn't feel like the steering had so much slack. It also helps prevent stress cracks on the front frame. For $60 they are a great bargain for the feel you get back and it's easy bolt on since you plan on doing the sway bar mounts anyway.

Some transmission poly mounts can cause issues due to install height. Most people just use the rubber mounts. I'm even using it with solid motor mounts.

A Arms bushing change would take a lot of work to take apart, but if you had the struts and stuff off anyways. You probably won't see much of a difference IMO if your rubber bushings are still in good shape.

Strut mounts can also go bad. If you have it all apart it might be a good time to replace those out or upgrade to an aftermarket set (depending on your budget and what your plans are for the car).

I used the nylon Top Down Solutions end links and there WS6 sway bar bushings. Both were great compared to the stock parts. Zinc plating and grease zerks are worth it IMO alone.

Make sure to shop around both Summit Racing and Jegs will price match. I use Froogle to get the best prices and call them up and have them price match those. It's usually an easy way to say $20+ depending on what you get.

Re: Something to add?

You may or may not need it. Panhard helps center the rear correctly from side to side. Adj lcas help center the wheels in the wells. Allocation brackets lower the rear mounting point of the lcas. This helps if car has wheel hop or is lowered to the point the rear mounting point is higher or even with the front.

Re: Something to add?

If you are doing this on a budget, go with:
KYB AGX front struts, eibach pro-kit springs, new tie rod ends, center link, idler arm, front control arm bushings and then an alignment. Any extra money spend on: adjustable torque arm (This adjusts your pinion angle for correct geometry.) LCA relocation brackets. I bought the eibach springs, KYB agx all the way around and all the front stuff I mentioned above. I also bought an adjustable panhard rod, but really didnt need it as the axle was only off by 1/4" or so.

Re: Something to add?

Summit price matches if the other guy has a store front. They won't price match drop shipping out of some guys basement.

I use froogle.com (google's search) to find the best prices. Document it all down to the URL for the part that shows the price and the store front. Call into Summit and the operator will look stuff up and verify.

I've gotten them to knock well over $100 off a $300 part or so that way.

Re: Something to add?

I have always found that Rockauto has the best prices on Moog parts. Summit has been high on a lot of that stuff lately.

http://www.rockauto.com/

Use coupon code 59358384933304 for an additional 5% off.

Looked at idler arms real quick to compare prices almost $20 doller diffrence! May save quite a bit does summit price match rockauto?

I really hate the way rockautos web site works.

Just did the numbers $76 in savings with a moog centerlink. Then add shipping $16 save $60 and if the 5% works that is about $14 more saved.

Re: Something to add?

I buy from Rockauto all the time you will not have any issues with them. Do not waste your time trying to get Summit to price match Rockauto. You will be with them on the phone for hour before they do it as they check every item and they still will not waive there handling fee.

You can probably get all your KYB stuff from Rockauto also.

Re: Something to add?

The rest souunds like a good plan!
I found you usually cannot beat ebay prices if you shop around.
