I'm in North Phoenix. I haven't been all about attending anything with my car until recently because of the way it looked. Since I have painted it, I have been wanting to go to car shows, but I keep having issues with other vehicles I own or life in general. But I enjoy seeing other people's projects because it's cool to see a car progress into something awesome. I am pretty much always willing to meet up and talk 3rd gens or help somebody out if needed in the area.

If your good with brakes at all I could really use some help with mine.
Hey Ya'll, looks like we will be moving to Grand Canyon pretty soon, to work and live, hope to meet some of you this summer.
We're you trying to say you were going to be moving to the Grand Canyon State, or the Grand Canyon area? Either way, you will love it in Arizona. This is my personal favorite place to live in the world. Not that I have been everywhere, but I have been to a great many places on this planet.
If you are going to be living in the Phoenix area, I don't see much action for people in this area. Junkyards right now are actually kind of plentiful with third gens, and occasionally you will see another third gen on the street (maybe even my 88 or my 87 iroc).
Contact me thru the ad or text as it says there.Mention you are a 3rd gen member to get the $6500.
For potential, this is one the 3rd gen to have. I'm sure we all know of the limited production run of the 1990 convertible IROCs and R/S.
this has: new top, carpet and dash pad, old stock red leather seats. along with maintenance items, ( heater core, water pump, brakes, hoses , belts... trunk motor and safety switch, heater vacuum, cruise control, door seals
Thanks

You might get that price in spring. I don't see that value though.
Tax return is a good time to sell cars, but this is the start of vert season. As for price Iroc vert maybe. Not sure if the salvage title will hurt it much or not.

It looks like a carbon fiber wrap, but I agree the snow bird would rather have a shinny red hood.
Salvage title definitely hurts the resale value. But it will sell easier once the temperature goes down a few more degrees and people start thinking a convertible would be nice to have.
Hey everyone, my name is Cal. I have been a long time member but have basically been absent for quite awhile. Used to be because of the Army but I have been retired now for 2 years. Spent last year at UTI and this year Im going through MCC to go to ASU. I still have the same 89 Firebird I first posted so many years ago. I havent driven her since 2006 so.... I really don't think she will be ready for the cruise. I live in Mesa now and don't plan on leaving.

Hey there. I am about to move from North Phoenix to Mesa, Mckellips and Gilbert road to be exact. Thank you for your service by the way. I was prior Navy, I was a helo mechanic. I have been out a little over 3 years and from Fountain Hills originally and moved back to the valley when I got out.
I had an 87 iroc I was restoring but got rid of it because I didnt have the time for it. I still have my 88, the blue one in my Sig (or at least it should be). I have been trying to sell it off and on but nobody will even come look at it. Market just isnt good for them now. Since I wont really get much for it since I would have to drop it super low to sell it, I'm probably just keeping it now. Going to plan an LS swap for it most likely.
I went to SCC for a little over a year before transferring to GCU and I'm in my last year, should graduate by Christmas.

Good to hear brother! those are my crossroads too, so if you need any help just let me know! I have the mechanical and electrical skills and my neighbor (who is a retired Marine) has the welding part down.

im certainly not the best mechanic in the world but I do alright. My best friend who has a mechanical engineering degree is who I do a lot of work with. He swapped a 7.3 power stroke into his 96 bronco and about to do an engine swap on his 91 camaro. Anything I don't know, I usually find out from him. I'm terrible with electrical. I'm trying to learn so maybe one day I will take you up on that!
AmpleUnicorn88, sounds like you have everything well at hand. You could always drop by to have a beer and bullshit if you ever need a break from everything.
Everyone moving to Mesa? I live in east Mesa, should have my car out running around in a couple weeks. I still need to get a replacement title to get it registered. Hope to get it cleaned up for some pics this weekend. A couple of pics from a couple weeks ago

Hot damn that is nice! Much nicer than my 88. My 88 looks good in pictures, but when you see it in person, you can tell it's an amateur paint job. I bounced around many projects, like the 87 iroc I was going to build but then abandoned, then the 97 ram I was working on and still own, but bought just so I had a truck until I could save up to buy something I really wanted (a diesel) and then 2 days before Christmas I bought a 97 F250 with a powerstroke. So I have basically neglected the camaro a lot so I'm hoping after the move I can sell the dodge and start to mess with my camaro some more.
I work in Fountain Hills as well as have family there, so where I'm moving in Mesa is perfect. It also allows me to potentially look for another job as well.
Great looking car though. Would love to see that thing in person one day.
Not everyone lives in Mesa. We live in the far NW valley with a few toys.
This one we campaign nationally. Picture is from MidWest MuscleCar Challenge 2016 at Putnam Park, IN from the roadcourse portion of the event.
This one is the drag car we built first. Procharger equipped SBC. It will get revamped for better handling and to change up the power curve to something more reasonable for events other than just straight line.

Thanks Man, paint job is not perfect on my car but I'm happy with it.
When are you moving to Mesa?
Since you're from Fountain Hills, I heard there is a car show this weekend. Have you ever been, is it worth going to?

Both of your thirdgens are awesome. I think I saw an article on the firebird, do you have a link to a build thread on the camaro?

Welcome back. Sounds like you need to get that firebird going again. Let me know if you need a hand.
Thanks, I will. I have a bit to do. Engine is good but have to change out the fuel pump and all the interior needs to be done on it.
Changing the fuel pump is a lot of work. You can drop the tank, I did this on my Iroc. Or you can cut a trap door , I did this on my 4th gen T/A. It worked out on the T/A because I changed it again a few years later. Interior is easy, finding nice replacement interior is not.
Looks nice, what color is your car. I have a DSOM C6
Nice vette! My car is Meduim orange metallic. It is the original color from 1988. One year only on thirdgens and only about 3,000 made. GM reintroduced the color on 4 gen ls1 camaro's and vettes but called it Sunset orange. If we put my car and your vette next to each other you would see it's the same color. The paint mix is the same also and I use sunset orange touch up paint on my car.

We should do the cars and coffee meetup some it.
I don't think I have ever seen a thirdgen that color. It looks a little like inferno orange in the pic, but oranges with pearl and metallic are hard to photograph.
I would like to get some pics of the vette next to your car. I go to cars and coffee every now and then, that show has gotten huge. Let me know when you are going and we'll cruise out there.

The GTA was featured in GM-EFI and has had cameo appearances in some other magazines like the Chevy High Performance coverage of Best Engine Bays of LSFest 2015.
There isn't a build thread on the Camaro though. We finished building it 7 years ago before the trend happened around writing build threads. We chronicled most of the GTA build and competition on Facebook though.

Trap door is easier on the 4th gens with the fuel lines connecting to the pump on top of the tank instead of in front of the axle like they do on a 3rd gen. Dropping the tank isn't that bad after you've done it a few times to get the sequence of actions memorized.
