Gas tank needed

I need a gas tank for a 3rd gen without rust inside of it like the one I have now. Let me know. I'm in downtown Gilbert and willing to drive a distance for one but I don't want to ship one in. Dan

You can buy them new from several places pretty cheap, check rock auto etc. You could also do the 4th gen tank conversion and get a plastic tank with no rust

Amazon or even Auto Zone will have a new one in stock. Save yourself the headache of getting a used one. Spectra-Premium-GM2721B

Thanks guys, that's what I ended up doing.... O'Reilly's had one in stock, bought it and brought it right over to the fab shop along with another one to have sumps welded in. Dan

I'll be curious to know how well it fits in place since they probably all come from the same factory. I purchased one of the remakes and it barely fit in place. It took some hammering on the tank with a dead blow mallet for the straps to fit in place. The filler neck position was also off slightly making me have to slightly enlarge the black plastic trim ring that bolts to the fender. I'm going to see about pulling a fourthgen plastic tank after that experience.
