Dyno Don's Infinite wisdome-vacuum delay valve
Dyno Don's Infinite wisdome-vacuum delay valve
Don and all others with substantial EGR knowledge....
I failed smog a bit ago because EGR was not hooked up to throttle body and some other stuff
Visual EGR-disconnected
Vacuum Line Connections-disconnected
and i failed on MIL....?huh?......warning lamp failure perhaps
SPD | HC | CO | NO |Rslt
CO2 | O2 |MAX | GP|MEAS| MAX | GP | MEAS | MAX | GP | MEAS |
15 12.9 2.0 110 285 137 .71 2.21 .85 1025 1965 2313 GP
25 14.0 1.5 85 120 46 .59 0.07 .11 885 194 751 pass
can anyone help me out with these results?
as ive said........i reconnected all that wasnt connected, replaced the EGR just for the sake of saying i did......all that is left is to replace warning lamp bulb behind dash.
The smog tech said he'd pass me if i had done all these things along with installing a "vacuum delay valve" between EGR and EGR solenoid. I have located from the Chevy parts dealer what we both agree to be that valve which is called an EGR vacuum check (which allows vacuum to flow in only one direction and backwards)....a $7 part but im not entirely sure where precisely to install it and would also like to know its impact on emissions
thanks all

By the way what are we working on here......The valve is just a little plastic one-way dohickey. (grin)
MIL=Malfunction Indicator Light
Put it right where you said. (between EGR and EGR solenoid)
