Front end Shake

Well let's start off with this, car been locked up on the freeway about 6 months ago. Starting hearing that cracking noise in the front end! 10 months ago a Vw bus dude ran me off the road coming up the grape vine. And after that by having 2 good front tires car did not pull was still aligned. Now I ended up putting a Morose solid trans mount! That ended up pulling my trans mount bolts right out of the case, they must have got loose then stripped the rest of the way out. So while I did have the solid trans mount it I noticed a lot of vibration, of course we are going to notice that. So how ever I heli coiled the trans mount bolts stuck back a reg. trans mount. And now my vibrations are better but I have a lot of steering jumping left an right in turns with small bumps or no bumps an also hard breaking. A few days ago some one cut me off an I had to hit the brakes pretty good for a short second smoke came off the front tires some, car bounced back an forth in the wheel.

How ever I do need to replace one of the tires as it is a worn tire from a few tires back. Thats going to be my 1st suspect of the shake.. possible flat spot in my tire. also check that gear box, and take the car in for an alignment. Then if i still have shake guess it's time for some front suspension work.. oh this could be fun.

I found out what it is

I ended up under the car the other day bolting the smog deal back in. And I started to grab stuff. And my Idler arm is shot? That one piece that has the sleeve on it for the alignment..? it moves nothing else does. Should be an easy fix and not cost a lot of money.. Still working with the Super Ram. I think I need to learn the proper way how to do the valve lash adjustment with the rocker arms an etc. im sure that's what I have to have out of whack wouldn't you say. if I don't have that correct that means my firing order is out of whack with the rockers etc? doing a lot of reading and still not understanding. And I don't think I could not learn this not seeing it done. I don't even know which rocker is intake and which is exhaust.

Couple of hints on how to determine exhaust vs intake.

The #1 piston(slug) is the one closest to the front of the car. If you look from the top view you will see that the driverside piston is actually closer to the rad.

The exhaust and intake valves are right next to their associated hardware. for instance the exhaust valve will be closer to the header tube then the intake valves are. From the fender view look at the headers and draw a visual bead up and you will see that there is a valve spring almost right on top of the header tube.
