What do you think?

Hey everyone!!

Just thought I'd show you my progress in my website class making my own version of our Club site...were still learning codes and we just made our own logos and are working on making image maps...I am thinking of putting what I've done on to a Geocities site so you guys can go there and tell me what you like and dont like...

So as for the logo, what do you think? comments/suggestions?(mind you Ive only been playing with Photoshop for a few days-so i cant do anything too fancy...)

Looks great! Making image maps is extremely easy btw, only suggestion I have is maybe the text could stand out a little bit more...

I like it. I agree with shotgun on the text. How about trying SC3G.ORG in black?

Same here

Do the lettering in either the deep blue, or black, or gold. Nice work.

Yes, it does look really nice for a newbie

No but seriously, that looks really good. What you could do, if you want to keep the text blue, is 'magic wand' the text, select black as the background color and then move the text (make sure you select the 'move tool' first) down and to the right. Two steps in each direction. That will give you a nice little shadow effect and will make it stick out a little bit more and will be easier to read.

I'd show you an example, but your learning and I don't really like to use other peoples photochop work since, well, it's not mine!?

hmmm... I know this is going to sound really stupid, but I think black draws too much attention away from the rest of the pic. I liked it much better blue... Like I said, that doesn't make much sense.

How about something like this?

Forsete that looks

That looks good, Is that color intention to blend in with the checkers? In order for it to match correctly. I was thinking about the color blue as in the Bow tie, Or the Gold that is in the Bow tie.
