Conversion of Auto to T-5 or T56 & Smog?

I was wondering if anyone has converted their autos to a stick, had a smog and then ran into any problems? I want to convert my Iroc to a T-56 but I do not want anymore smog headaches. I am not worried about the emissions part, my car will pass that, but just the fact that it has been converted. Will this be an issue?
Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance!

The transmission has no effect on the smog check. You're in the clear.
