Camaro problem <<====

Any suggestions or help would be gladly helpful with the problem with my Iroc, even if it's the same ol stuff, if you know what I mean, was this tried was that tried.

So the problem goes like this, The car began to have hard starting problems, would take awhile to start up, then all of a sudden the engine began to miss jump around a bit smooth out a little, and let it warm up a minute or so and try to rev it up, and there is no rpm's, more less not hitting on all 8. Every thing that can be possibly done to the car and diagnosed has been done. Im talking the whole 9 yards. Now when you have all 8 spark plug wires it runs as i stated, when you take off 2,4,6,8 it runs the same as I stated, But if you take off one of either 1,or 3, or 5, or 7 there is a change real rough running on hmm could it be 3 cylinders it's only running on if there is no change taking off 1357, then you take off 2 how in the world is this engine running and starting up like nothing happened besides the change in condition of 2 off.
Exhaust on 1357 is warm, but 2468 is hotter. if 1357 is not firing why is it warm.
So the drawing board shows all vacuum is good at 15, 20 would be better, but there is no sign of any valve problem. Engine does not show any sign of any thing going to grenade, all sounds smooth internally, compression is good, and every thing else has been done... by all means is there something missing that would make 1357 fire. Is it a curse? Well any help would be appreciated. This is a Camaro emergency.

Ive Been Given the lowdown on your problem, And it doesnt make any sense.

If the plugs on 2 and 8 are Wet with Fuel, They arent Firing. Thats pretty straitforward. Ive been told your entire ignition including dist, Module, coil, Wires, PLugs, And Pickup Coil.

Also that the PROM has been changed, the Injectors have been cleaned and flowtested, and compression has been checked on all cylinders And is within tolerance.

Additionally - It has been mentioned that if the #2 and 8 plugs are removed and cleaned, the idle smooths out for a breif period at wich point they foul again and it worsens.

So - the ignition is not a likely culprit, its all been checked.

Something is fouling the #2 and 8 plugs. I would Say leaking headgasket, except for the compression Numbers.

You might be burning oil in those two hole causing the plugs to foul, But I understand that the intake has been removed and reinstalled, so its unlikely its coming in through the intake ports (unless the head or manifold surface is damaged)

It could be coming in at the valve guide, but unlikely. the rings also could be letting some in, but that would likely show up in a compression check.

But it is obvious, with the information that I have been Given, that something is fouling those two plugs - and your ignition is working properly up untill the point that they do foul.

Since all injectors have been checked - Its unlikely that they are just washing down with fuel.

So what else could you be burning ? Oil. From where is Up to you to discover.

Thanks

I would say you explain the problem more correct that I could possibly do. I was getting crossed up with the cylinders down the lines there, I just don't know I am clueless and I am not intelligent with engines, I do catch on to most of it though. Well, the car is having a problem draining the battery while sitting, that needs to be fixed and who knows maybe in the process it could fix this, the short needs found any ways, the fans need wire work also, So Don is going to find all the wiring problems and fix them and go from there. This problem is hiding some where. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.

It's fixed, found the short....no more battery drain AND running on all "8" finally. Just a few minor details to finish.
