He will come again to judge the living and the dead...
A moment of silence for the 14.30 LM1 as it was finally laid to rest this weekend…
At a small ceremony at an undisclosed location, friends and family viewed time slips, video footage, and receipts in remembrance of the force that powered the legendary Red Rocket from September 2001 to January 2004. By request of the owner, the LM1 will be melted down and forged into a series of speed limit signs to be placed throughout canyons in the great state of California.

Could it be the Blue Bunny awaits a "305" resurection to achieve a clean bill from the smog ****'s while the Red Rocket gets a transfustion of Bunny blood to sooth it's aching soul?

Something about the way the heads look on the short block. Oh by the way, that's your engine on the engine stand. The oil pan gives it away.

My engine is still in my car and has some welding done to the front of the oil pan

Wow I didn’t know the acquisition of a new motor would cause this much drama. At the absolute soonest the car will be running by mid July. I’ve waited to long for this to take any short cuts. I dropped of my SuperRam and base Monday to be extrude honed and still have a long list of parts that I still need to get. For now the car is sitting at my friends house on jack stands without a motor. Where it will be sitting the better part of the next 3-4 months.

The bickering could be settled if it weren't so difficult to get all the cars to the track at once.
BTW - California Dragway has announced their schedule for the rest of the year:
California Speedway
Here are the dates remaining as posted on the web site:
Spring 04:
April 10
May 29
Summer 04:
July 17
July 31
August 21
September 18
Fall 04:
November 13
I suggest we pick a date well in advance as in now to give those that wish to compete for some bragging rights the chance to know which day to show up. That way we don't have some people running their fastest at the track when no one else is there to see it
Also it doesn't have to be California Dragway, I know that I wouldn't mind a trip to Carlsbad again, but I would need time to plan to free up the day.

Well said Randy. This is exactly what I’ve been trying to set up for the past three years now. I’m willing to accept the responsibility of coordinating the shootout. Hell I’m even willing to purchase a couple of trophies to be presented to the winners. I just hope everyone can keep their cars together long enough to make it to the track at the same time.
In this fictitious world of candy canes, bunnies, Futuras, and rockets much is to be said for good old fashioned imagination…
We have some heavy hitters in our group and with some incredibly unique combinations so it should prove to be an exciting event.
In the end there will only be one!

I am willing to throw in some cash for trophies as well, and get the group from the Inland Empire organized and informed on when and where. Looks like we are talking latter this year to be able to include the Red Rocket, Blue Bunny, and Futura Man. I hope and do plan to keep the Pink Problem running till then and I know Rusty will want to bring his STA (Slow Trans Am
) to the track as well. Plus we know a couple other third genners in the IE that would be up for the spectacle of some Garage Built Beasts hitting the track. Lets see what we can do to make this happen.

You guys just dont know about the Black Hole yet. It will be a household name soon enough.

Red, white or blue you know who's the fastest.
That sounds like Fun. While you finish your engine I'll look around for an intake. So maybe I'll be able to compete with you big boys.

Forget the track, lets see them all get running at once first!

Its a good thing my car isnt red, or I would have to make you eat those words.

Wow that was quite a post Mr. Fearn. I hope you’re not being overly optimistic in wagering that the RR will “take-out” the candy cane. After all the only proof we have that my combination will work is on paper. We’re a long way from lighting it off. As far as wagers go, I’ve attempted to set a few up in the past. I’m afraid our idea of a reasonable wager is downright obscene to others.
I’m not looking to be the fastest, just the most consistent.
Pssst! Hey James, do you think they’ve picked up on our good cop/bad cop vibe yet?

I prefer to think of it as me softening them up while you finish them off
Though as much trash as everyone talks I have yet to see anyone pick a date that we can all make it, that way people have a goal for a running date as well as a date to put up or shut up

Dude, what happened to your post saying that u starred in stag films directed by Mike, that post more believable.
Have fun in Hawaii, u and big head can share grass skirts and Mai Tai's while holding hands on the beach.
Hey what's up! So do guys have any rules on who can run and who can't. Does the engine have to be N/A? Does my car have to have a nick name? I 'm gonna be rebuilding my engine pretty soon. Just dont know which engine I'm gonna use yet, either my L98 that's in right now or my bro's LS1 that's sitting in my garage. Either one I choose I think I'll give you guys a challenge. That's all I say I dont like to trash talk. I let my car show you guys.

Nicknames aren't required but it helps in the trash talk...gives it a little more character.
The quicker N/A cars are in the high 12's, low 13's. These cars are daily driven, full interior, little done to remove weight, and smoggable. A N2O car is fine as long as the results are in that ET bracket. It wouldn be fair if N/A Don and my car are pretty close but then I put the squeeze on him and loose 1.5 seconds in the 1/4. That would put me in another field.

Some refer to my psychosis as a condition; well I happen to call it a gift. Isn’t it amazing how something as simple as a post on a message board can motivate so many? Genius? No, just a simple man with the gift to motivate the masses. I am in the process of coordinating a series of shootouts, BBQ’s, and cruises for the upcoming months so stay tuned…

So how about 9/18 @ California Dragway? Will that give everyone enough time? Also James has a good point about brakets; are we going to organize ourselves that way? If so I suggest we start getting a list of "registered" cars for the event - that way we could plan a couple good grudge matches for all of us to watch
If we need any follow through on anything or any of my suggestions sound decent then either ping me with a PM, email, or call and let me know what I should organize.

Thats a great point Randy we can set it up like so. Fastest out of 15. 14. 13. 12. This will even out the playing field and make it more interesting and let some new heavy hitters step up to the plate and blow the crowd away like myself
I must say. You might call me slow but when you see my tail lights you can bow down Mrs. Pink problem. So lets all put in some input to the date and do this thing Unless your scared.
I'll be setting up to bring the New Inland Empire F-Body Invasion club out and we should be having a blast.

Mike and James need to turn on a fan backwards to suck some of the smoke out of their asses from all of the smack talk. Both of them will bow down to me and that's a fact. I doubt they will get pass the silver fox. The pink IROC and the 4 tone Trans Am might as well sit a 1 second behind the field. Even the black 89TA will smoke them. The candy cane is waiting for someone to slip up.
