Feels good not having to worry about it for the next 2 years.

See....you can swap in an LT 1 cam and still pass the smog test.

Did you get it by with the open element, or did you install the stock air cleaner for the smog test?

I knew the guy doing the smog test so he let me keep the open element on. Would it have a made a difference?

Heres my numbers
15mph- HC=40, CO=.04, NO=272
25mph- HC=29, CO=.05, NO=258

If you did not know the tech you would have failed the visual inspection.

Like madmax says. The reason they fail visual for an open element is that you have no heat riser tube from the exhaust headers to the air cleaner. That heat riser is only used to warm the air on cold starts.
