Question about Rear ends...

hey there... just wondering one thing...

my uncle called me last night and started asking about camaro rear ends... and i wanted to know if there is a 7.5 inch posi rear end with 21 splines... he said that they can be found off of the 82-88 V6 models... is this true? and if so how difficult are they to find? any info is welcomed...

Re: Question about Rear ends...

Yeah at a junkyard you have even a chance to pick up a better ratio if you needed it. Dont know what he has now but there always some luck finding rear ends in the junk yard. We have found 9bolts borg warner 3:45 and we have found a ford 9" also.

Re: Question about Rear ends...

What is the easiest way to tell what the gear ratio is if I see a car in the junk yard? Is it possible to tell w/o taking it apart?

Re: Question about Rear ends...

You can take off the cover and check the ring. You will find the ratio that way.
