I think he's saying its reliable transportation if you "know someone" in the emissions testing industry.

The seller is responsible for making sure it passes the smog test before the sale is complete, so good luck.

Do you still have all of the fuel injection hardware that was removed during the conversion?

Legally as soon as you restore the fuel injection system to the car and get a smog certificate, you have something to sell in California. Until then it is legally a race/off road vehicle that can never be driven on a public road in California. By law it is also your responsibility to get it smogged before you transfer ownership. If you sell it to someone who decides to take their chances and go for a smog test and are failed, you can face hefty fines and possible jail time. If you are smart you will either restore it to tpi and pass smog, seek to sell it as a race car only, or sell it out of state to a state that does not have Cali's smog laws. I have nothing against you, just trying to give you fair warning of what could happen if you sell the car to someone who is unsuspecting about smog laws in Cali.

No, he had it all for sale last year sometime. Remember this is Randy's old car?

Re: 88 iroc z28 for sale in So-cal

I think you have a choice of wither selling it out of state or parting it out. No matter what you put on the bill of sale unless you cancel the registration and specifically sell it as an off road track car only, you can be held liable for removing the smog equipment.

That was a nice car till it was butchered. Way to take a nice fast FI car and go backwards in technology. Good luck parting it out.

BUTCHERED? haha you should have seen the hoses/electrical/sensors ect on this thing when i got it, half the wires didnt even have butt connectors, they were twisted together and taped, half the sensors i pulled off didnt have clips and just fell out, 90% of the vacum lines wern't even connected and were dry rotted, car leaked oil like a pig, everything was loose. looks like a two yr old kid did the work. if anything i cleaned it up, and made it better. im sorry you dont agree with carburation, so dont open your mouth unless you know what your talking about. thanks

I'm only guessing because I dont know the whole story. The last I saw the car Randy and Rusty were picking it up from Don's with intentions of finishing it themselves.

You don't know anything about me or what I know. I know the car and saw it on a few occasions and even considered purchasing it. It was very clean with a lot of great parts and great potential. Granted it did need a paint job since it was turning kind of pinkish and some TLC.

I don't have a problem with carbs on vehicles that originally came with a carb or even putting a carb on that car for racing purposes. What I have a problem with is swapping out a perfectly good FI system to a carb then falsly advertising the car as street legal because you got a "special smog". That's plain and simple dishonest, unethical and wrong.

Re: 88 iroc z28 for sale in So-cal

so daily driver = street legal does street legal = daily driver? I dont think his intentions were to trick anybody. However, to me the price is a little high for a car that needs a "smog"

Re: 88 iroc z28 for sale in So-cal

Daily driver means that you can get in and drive to your job, shopping etc which means that it needs to be street legal (able to be legally registered in the state you reside). No one is going to buy a daily driver to drive around private parking lots. Street legal is street legal meaning that it can legally be registered to be driven. If the owner chooses to drive a street legal car daily that's the owners choice.

Either way I agree the price is too high.

WHO GIVES a SH**.... come on, are you that bored, that you have to come on here and argue... WOW...

im not trying to trick anyone!, yes i switched the car from tpi to carburation, " which ya you have to get a "illegal smog". so pay a few extra bucks, and you will have a street legal car.

i love the car, it does have ALOT of great parts, im sure randy had a CRAP load of $ into it. Im just bored with it, i drove it a few times and it sits in my shop. runs great. i just have to many projects and other toys to play with.

id let it go for cheaper than the price above... anyone interested pm me..

thanks
