Car won't start...

without holding the throttle open. Fuel pressure is 45 and holds, changed the ignition module and TPS and still no go.

Any ideas? Trying to get the car going for the autox Sunday.

Thanks

As soon as I let off the throttle, it dies.

Might be the IAC. May be dirty, clogged, or just frozen in place.

Re: Car won't start...

Ive had the same problem for the past week or so! Starts and immediately dies...have to keep the throttle cracked to keep it alive. Here's the kicker, it has seemed to correct itself...? My guess is that the original IAC has become gummed up, sluggish and at times, completely unresponsive. Now, instead of dying, if you aggressively blip the throttle, the RPMS will fall and chug around 450 rpm before surging back to the appropriate idle (which I have set @ 650). I suppose I'll replace the IAC and report back. Hope that helps.

IAC was the problem. I wasn't that long ago that I changed it. Take it off and it was really clean. Re-did the point and she fired right up.

You can take the IAC apart and clean it. Unless the motor has failed, the part that gums up is just a needle valve.
