Another repair
Just repaired another broken Spohn torque arm yesterday, yep.... broken right at the weld DOH!
Inserted a 5/8" x10" hardened bolt to to make it stronger in that area, then rewelded it.

Spohn's old design. Bought under his first Group Purchase. Here's how it broke: Revved just off idle speed, release the clutch in reverse to pull out of a parking space. Pop! WTF? Of course may have been just the last straw that broke the camels back. It could have been stressed for a while. You could tell it was a heat-effeted zone where he welded on the washer that attaches to the tube that the rubber attches to. The car seems to launch better now. I wonder if it's been flexing for a while?
