Re: New to the site
i can use all the help i can get, its much appreciated. the engine is in good shape only had 88,000 miles which are original. its only a 305 tpi but im getting a 350 and my plans are to build my 350 into a 383. and im not for sure which is the best route to go about that.
condition wise it needs some body work, the red paint is faded so some parts are pinkish in color but i am going to paint it later on. as for the inside everything is in good shape, seats are in good condition but will need new floor carpet and a new headliner. jus very minor stuff to getfixed.
i only paid $900 for it

Re: New to the site
pics are small, from the looks of it no iroc rims, can't have an iroc without iroc rims. post some bigger pics, as far as the motor, stick with the 305 if it has those low miles, and focus on other stuff first

yea i jus got thee stocks on it for now, i plan on putting either 20' or 22' irocs after i get it painted but im not for sure which size i want. and i like the 305 but im more of a speedster so i want a bigger stronger engine. so thats why i want a 350 and then build that to a 383. and make doin donuts and burnouts a lot more fun lol

Re: New to the site
well if you are a speedster 20's or 22's will not help much, if i may say so 17's or even 18's will work fine but you will be pushing it.......

Re: New to the site
what i mean if the motor has low miles and is in good shape why swap it for a 350, the 305 is plenty fun better off using the money for more immediate problems

Re: New to the site
i understand. but he did say it was a project usually projects take a wile because you wanna take your time doing it and I'm sure hes gunna do the engine swap sooner or later, so might as well do it now. like i said this is just what i would do first.

Re: New to the site
i see where he is coming from. the engine has no problems at all really. its just minor work under hood.
hopefully today i can put my new starter on,switch out my spark plugs and change my filter and when that is done i just gotta tape up loose wires and change my oil.
but as for engines i can get those for cheap, my friend was going to sell me his ls1 with 65,000 miles for only $400 that he took out of his 95 maro. and as for the 350 i can get one for $150 with 110,000 miles(dont know if thats a good deal) or i might be getting one for free from this one guywith a 89 iroc cause he has 500,000 miles on it, i have no idea where he be driving his car lol and my plan was to rebuild that one while i attend wyotech since i can use there shop for free.
im not going to put another engine in it til the minor work is 100% first

16 inch stock IROC rims are hands down THEEEE best looking rim on any Iroc. Or any third gen. IMO stick with what came stock from the factory when it comes to wheels.
