hard top vert to t-top?
I was just wondering if anyone has ever done a convention from hard top to t-tops. under the head liner there is a t-top like frame i think all third gen camaros came out of the factory with the ability to have t-tops but not all got the privilege of heaving t-tops people say "buy a camaro with t-tops" but the car is to sentimental. I always loved the feeling of havening t-tops that cool breeze going at you wile driving down the beach. i seen videos and photos of how its done (but not detailed enough) so i was wondering if anyone here has ever done this or know someone that has,? so they could guide me in the right direction. thanks

i wanna do the same to my car, and ive been searching online to see how much it cost to get it done and i read somewhere that it cost $1500 to convert but im not for sure tho, i seen the price on a forum.. u can always find a place that will do it for cheaper. thats if money isnt a issue for you.
if anyone else knows where to get this done cheaper i would like to know. thanks

There was recently a guy on the body boards doing something similar to what you are talking about. Basically what he did was find a car with a t-top roof. Cut the roof off at the pillars and replaceed his hardtop with the t-top. This was just the simplified version. He did a lot of bracing to the car before cutting the tops so things didn't shift around.

Jason has it right, I read that same thread. I wanted to do this too until I realized I wasn't up to the task currently, and having some guy do it for me is financially out of the question. The guy might have also put in a cage to make sure it didn't have flex problems, in any case the cost would be the price of the roof (at pick-a-part or wherever you want to get one) and the cost to have it welded in.
Roof cost? At pick-a-part under 100 I'm sure.
Welding cost? Do it yourself and free, have a pro weld it in and you're looking at a nice sum for such a structural job, guessing around 600-800.

I finally found the thread about the conversion. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...-top-roof.html
It was an interesting thread with some good information, but alot of work.
