I agree with him. This thing is going to be a disaster. Let's hope it does not pass.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

The bill is up for a vote in the House today. It will be a sad day in America if this POS legislation passes. They can fine you up to $15000 if you don't sign up. All kinds of little gotchas in this thing.

It squeeked thru. Hopefully it will die in the senate.
If it passes a number of States are against it and maybe it will be ruled unconstitutional.

Heres a link to its costs, which start immediatly and benfefits that start about 2012 or 2013.

That's another thing. The taxing starts right away but the so called "benefits" don't start for a few years down the road. This thing is a disaster. Some people must think if it is put out by the Democrats it must be a good thing. NOT!

If you dont have "acceptable" coverage, and you dont pay the "fine", you go to jail for "tax evasion". But its not a tax.

Wrong. EVERYBODY must have health ins. If you dont make enough you get subsidized. If you are self employed they have a small business fund for you to pay into.
I already told my employee that the day I get a letter saying I have to pay for health insurance for him will be his 1 week notice.

"EVERYBODY must have health ins"

Yep and if you don't they are going to use the IRS to extract the money from your bank accounts etc. I hope everyone understands what is going on.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

Under domestic parnership laws, In about 4 more months I fall under my partners health insurnace plan. (thanks to the gay rights, us straight people also fall under those provisions)

I make no income.

I have no bank account in the U.S.

I no longer own property in my name in the U.S.

I do not taketh, I do not giveth. I am a rareity and my position in life allows for this fortunate loophole.

As this government continues to get more intrusive I think a lot of us will "disappear". Seems there are to many people voting this nonsense into office and don't care at all about the freedoms they are giving up.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

A great idea!!!!!

2010 is an election year for 1/3 of the senate and all of the house of representatives. It would be nice if congress got the message; the voting taxpayers are in charge now.

Social Security 2009

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET.
PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

KEEP IT GOING!!!!

Propose this in 2009:

START A MOVEMENT TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

------------ --------- --------- ----

SOCIAL SECURITY:

(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresspeople do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. .....

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (yes, you read that correctly, that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000..00 during the last years of their lives.
This is calculated on an average life span for each of those Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan to them is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!

From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer), we can expect to get an average of
$1,000 per month after retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.

That change would be to

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us

Then sit back......

And see how fast they would fix it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

How many people can YOU send this to?

Better yet......

How many people WILL you send this to ?

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

For all of you who voted for Obama because you wanted "change." Congratulations! You've got it:

Obama recently approved a 2% salary increase for all federal employees effective January 1, 2010.
Members of the executive, legislative and judicial branch are due for an automatic pay increase in January as well.

All this on the backs of seniors who will not incur any COLA increases for several years.

For the first time in history, the Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment).

In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years.

However, the personal monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and to $ 120.20 for the year 2011.

Send this to all seniors that you know.

Remind them to not vote for the incumbent senators and congressmen in the 2010 and the 2012 elections.

Okay, everybody, you heard the man. If it comes from CNN and Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, you must ignore it because it is wrong. On the other hand, if it is from Snopes.com, you gotta believe it!!!

It might be of interest to some as to why the Feds get a pay raise, but SS recipients do not. Everyone "should" be on the same formula.
I'll let you know the end of Jan weather my check is bigger or smaller.

How about YOU do your homework instead of posting refuting and wrong opinion from Snopes?

Snopes.

According to Title 26, that is the actual code translated from legislation that imposes taxes including the "Social Security" tax that is just another income tax, the President, Vice President, numerous judges including SCOTUS, and Members and Delegates of Congress are specifically EXCLUDED from having to pay the "Social Security" Tax. Snopes is flat out wrong.

If you want a specific reference to the ACTUAL law rather than some worthless opinion from some idiot at Snopes.com, refer to Title 26, Subtitle C, Chapter 21, Subchapter C, section 3121 "Definitions" (b)(B)

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

Sorry guys, but there's just no such thing as an unbiased media anymore---I believe that died about the same time Walter Cronkite went off the air.....

Been around a couple days, here's what I've observed:

1. No such thing as unbiased news reporting
2. No such thing as a politician who is actually concerned about what's best for his constituents, except for the last 90 days before election time, then he'll tell you everything you want to hear, and never plan on following through with any of it.
3. After one term, every politician is owned by some special interest group or lobbyist.
4. The government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" is no more
5. The government isn't going to do anything that isn't good for them and theirs......
6. The 2nd coming of the Boston Tea Party and the altercations that followed is about 20 years overdue.
7. Everybody has their own opinion of what's wrong with our government, but nobody wants to do anything about it except complain........

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

Yep.
One big problem with overhauling the govt is the sheer number of govt employees that are against any change.

Almost ALL govt employees DO NOT pay into SS. They prefer their own retirement programs. And why not when they can retire at ~60 and get 90% of their highest years pay (which they inflate with lots of OT and accumulated vacation pay) then get rehired at their old job or another govt job and still collect their retirement.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

"I believe that died about the same time Walter Cronkite went off the air....."

Even Walter's star is not shining so bright anymore. We are at the point where we can not believe anything coming out of the media. Everything needs to be double or triple checked. This health-care fiasco is not being covered like it should except for the few who are actually reading the bill and pointing out some of the fallacies in it like Madmax posted.

The so called global warming scientist have really screwed things up. They have fudged the data so that it confirms to what they want us to believe. Now, what is the truth regarding temperatures over the last 100 years or so. I don't know what the truth is anymore. Then what is an average temperature and for what time period? 100 years, 1000 years, 100,000 years, 1 million years?

If any of you trust what is coming out of the media and the administration I feel sorry for you. You are being led astray.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

I just dont get it? We see this going on and all we can do is cry like babys on the computer in hopes that some dude making more money then us will stop making more money then us. Do u people fukin get that??? I have got to be mad about the things going on but lets stop crying and do something about it. I am 29 years old. I am a college graduate and I cant find a dam job. I am a father of 3 kids and my wife goes to work at 4:30am for $10 an hour. I am in a place where I hate the country and all the people running it (should be us).

Bad part is if Osama mama lost his job the next guy would do the same sht it dont matter who it is. Will u make less money then me and follow the rules I have to, or will u be king of the world and make an jerk out of yourself to make that work? Why was bush in the white house as long as he was?? How many times did he make a jerk of his self and it didnt matter? Lets give him 4 more years!!! We have become silent dumb ****. They take what we got and we let them. Hell we even kiss their butts if we where ever to meet them. .

I hate this game so much I have never even voted. I know nothing of politics and thats the way they want it. Some how it seems the majority of the ones that do vote are very stupid. How can a race so old be so stupid? Its not us its them. We stay silent.

Well aside from hurting anyone if their is some kind of plan someone has that would be worthy then by all means lets roll. If not no more crying lol. Thanks for reading my rant. Oh ya. I do like it when people on tv speak out in a screw the man fashion. So thanks for posting the links. Just seemed unreal that someone would pass a bill that let the illegals that stole my job to get out of taxes but take my wifes. WoW. What a testament to power trips, pushing it too far, and how passive we all have become. Its just sad.

I know what you are saying. Its not just the man at the top - its all 550 of them in DC plus the local yokals.
Next Nov 435 of them in DC come up for reelection - vote them ALL out. Thats the only way to send a message - reelect no one.

Then there are the lobbiests and inhouse experts. A recent article informed me that there is ONE guy in sacramento that is the dumocrat environmental expert and more powerful than most of the senators. He is behind ALL the BS enviro leglislation in CA and he's not even elected, we cant fire him - he's there forever.

1. College graduate >>>then or than
2. America is not a race!
3. How many "illegals" do you think have a college degree?
With that being said if immigrants from other countries took your job, well your degree may not be worth much.

Moving along, I know plenty of public school teachers that unfortunately lost the opportunity to comply with their chosen career because of the economy, not because of "illegals"!

If you are not satisfied with you current situation go back to school, my friends who are teachers are.

Oh and do not b!tch because your wife has to wake up at 4:30 am, be grateful there is some money flowing in your household.

Every person in this country has the opportunity to change his or her current situation and/or their future.
Glad to be American.

I am back in school Im not just siting here doing nothing. I tinker with cars buy & re sell also.

One great thing about this country is the freedom of speech. One major reason most of us stay quiet, & nothing significant ever gets done is for fear of rejection. People are afraid to be different, so we have become predictable making it too easy to be walked on. When people do show individuality they get ragged on just like u did about my writing syntax? It doesn't even bother me I knew someone would say something. Just my prediction.

How many people do you think will vote the guys who's as s they are kissing out of office? Is it realistic? After watching The Al Gore movie I would vote for him. I do NOT know all of what he would have done to outrage us while we hid under the covers but it seemed like he wanted to take our guns? Just why I dont vote. No one to vote for.

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

The only good thing about this recession is that people opened their eyes and realized that constantly striving forward will only help immunize the individual from situations like the one we are facing in our country now.
Good, initiatives like the one you have taken will only help us all in a small way but help is help.
I do agree one has to be its own person and have its own perspective that is amped by education. But also respect the ideas of others and not be narrow. IMO

Re: See this before its removed re Health Care bill

I cant remember when I last voted for someone - mostly Im voting against the other guy.
But next time, I dont care if I have to cast my vote for a green party or prohibitionist or what, I will not vote for any incumbents and Im gonna try to avoid those with a R or D after their name.
Right now the 3rd party candidates dont carry many votes, so the plan is to remove all the career politicians we can then go to work on those who ignore us.

I was planning on doing the same. If we an vote out a significant number of career politicians I think the will of the people, not the special interests might....might start getting listened to. Personally I don't think being a politician should be a career.

Thats the one thing our founding fathers missed. Back then they did a tour or 2 and went back to their business. Of course being a congressman didn't pay anywhere near as well then.
