I drove by a little kid and his dad at the park, and I heard the kid ask his dad... "Daddy, is that a race car?" haha. Made my day.

 

You guys have it so good out there!!! I took mine out tonight to get my hair cut. Unfortunately I left the top up because it was in the low 40's at the time.. Snowing outside now... haha

I got more looks due to the noise pollution.

 

I love the reactions I always get.........."Oh hum, just a nice RS, but why'd he put the IROC wheels & Z28 badges on it?"...... You best drive right through that yellow/red light.

 

1) As I was getting in my car to go to work, a mother and her young kid were walking on the opposite side of the street and he blurts out "look mommy that's a firebird". That's one smart kid.

2) As I pulled into my driveway an older gentleman in a Penske moving truck slows down and comments on my GTA. Turns out he's moved in just up the street and he's got a pristine flame metallic red GTA like mine - I couldn't believe it.

Something else that I do get a lot of though is some older dude will spot my car then proceed to walk over and chat me up about his classic mustang or his buddy's 2nd gen bandit T/A or <insert hot rod here>. I mean seriously, do I have a pony on my front bumper? With all due respect to the powerplants on the old 442s, cobras, challengers, etc. etc. I really could care less about traditional classic cars. They just don't have the looks or styling cues of thirdgens or 80s cars in general, because when you beef it up under the hood the last question remaining is - how do you fix ugly?

 

I work part time at a grocery store and I'm always worried about people trying to push their carts across the lot into those corral areas (for lack of a better word) so I always park way down on the end of the parking lot. Yeah my car does have chips in the paint and a dent in it, but I don't want any more damage. Anyway, a month or two after I started working there, I noticed more vehicles parking down there. When I finished my shift one day, there were a few guys sitting in their cars down my mine. One had a 01 SS, another had an 89 IROC and the third had a 95 TransAm. I ended up staying ~30 minutes longer to talk to them. I've also had a lot of older guys come over and talk to me about it if I was out bringing in carts or something. Earlier this year, a coworker told me there was a guy walking around the store asking people who my car belonged to. The guy never found me so I don't know what it was about.

 

I got out of my car today and a girl walked by and said, "you are pretty cute". I do not think she even noticed what kind of car I was driving.

 

i was at a gas station one day and this Fiero pulls in HOT as hell...tires screeched when it stopped. old guy jumps out and gets his gas..while hes waiting and im waiting for the gas to be done..he kinda just stairs over at my car and im just thinking..alright..ill say something..i said "nice Fiero" he says "thanks, your camaro is pretty clean" xD hahahaha
just made me laugh...didnt bother correcting him...he seemed to still be living in the 80's (leather jacket and all) hopped in my car and drove off laughing xP

 

Ya, I have to remember to not be in a hurry anywhere I go as people always want to talk with me about our IROC. They always say how clean it is and how if they do see another Third Gen they are always thrashed. I guess when they see the others they think the glass is half empty while when I see a rough one I am always giving them props as a drive by thinking they are busting their knuckles on the weekends like my wife and I are to fix her up. I'll go for months sometimes not seeing another 3rd gen. When did our cars become so rare?
