The move over law

http://www.snopes.com/politics/traffic/moveover.asp

When a emergency vehicle is stopped on the side of the road and its lights flashing you must slow down and move to the adjacent lane if possible. In CA the fine is not to exceed $50 but with local agency addons its ~$150.

Re: The move over law

Same applies in Canada. Here in BC, on the highway, your "supposed" to move to the left lane and drop your speed to 60km/h.
Also applies to construction zones where you need to drop down to 60km/h. Your fine is doubled if caught speeding through there.
