How bad is this?
Came out of my 15 yr old compressor, 25 gl.Im afraid the integrity of the welds are compromised?Anyone have some experience/knowledge dealing with rusted compressor tanks.Im afraid to pressurise the tank for fear a pipe bomb blast will result.

At the pressure your air tank is gonna run, most likely you'll just get a pinhole leak somewhere and it will whistle.. unlikely it's going to do a catastrophic fail, though they do put the big industrial ones in a cage for a reason. you might be able to find someone who works at an oil company who has specialized ultrasound equipment for testing oil tanks, who can check it for you?

Yeah, tank is regulated to 140 psi.I feel a little safer using it then.
Would'nt mind having it tested though, thanks guys.
