Does my GTA run cleaner than my Toyota? Hmmm.
I had to smog my cars this month so I took them both in today.
I started with the toyota, ('85 corolla) I figured if they passed that POS...
I didn't do anything special to either just warmed them up first.

I think they did just average, but it's fun to compare the numbers
I wonder if the higher O2 in the GTA is because it flows more air through it?
Also, am I allowed more leeway with the Toyota because it is a single cat and carbed?
Since they only put the sniffer in one exhaust, does my GTA actually put out as much smog as two Toyotas?

Hi Julie!
To answer your question, you have to look at how they evaluate emissions. They use both % (percent) and PPM (Parts Per Million), so looking at your figures can lead to some confusion.
Since they are evaluating your emissions on a percentage basis, the GTA can be emitting a lower percentage of emissions, but a much higher volume of emissions and thus emitting a far larger amount of smog into the environment.
The analogy that comes to mind is that if you dump 10 gallons of 20% dirty water into the environment, vs dumping 1 gallon of 25% dirty water, even though the latter is in fact "dirtier" water, the former is emitting far more "bad" particles into the environment.
So, is 'Yota cleaner than the GTA? Percentage-wise, the GTA is cleaner. But for total emissions volume, the 'Yota is probably cleaner.
