Rims and Slicks?
I was wondering if someone would be willing to share their source of the drag slicks and rims? I know that Kevin got his rims through a "family" effort and Vincent's "fell" into his lap. But I was wondering what type/size of rim the majority of you guys are using as well as the type of slick you find to "hook" the best. I would like to go to Fontana in January and thanks to Don and Kevin L's find tuning I hope to be in the 13's without any problems but with slicks it would just be a matter of how quick of 13's

Check the classifieds. You can find 16" IROC rims for sale on this board, and on www.recycler.com . For drag radials, go with the ET Streets. 26x10.5x16" is the size you want for 16x8" stock rims.

Is there an aftermarket rim that is 10" wide that will fit on our thirdgens without having to use spacers?

Thanks Kevin! Jerry M made it to the GS3G meeting tonight to show off his new part and he also mentioned that I should be able to use a rim that has 5.5" back spacing, now to just find one that doesn't cost to much and get some slicks Though Jerry said I would be able to use his Nitto slicks on the 13th at Fontana

Randy,
I have a pair of Mickey Thompson drag slicks mounted on Centerline Autodrag wheels. The slicks are 26x10x15. That's 10" of tread width, not section. The section is about 11.25". the wheels are 15x8.5 with 4.8 backspacing. They give plenty of clearance. They are brand new. Only driven around the block once to scuff them. Never done a burn-out with them. I've decided not to race, and want to sell them. I live in Mission Viejo, not far from Kevin. email me if you're interested. These are real drag slicks, not treaded DOT tires.
