rear main seal tips?(89 camaro)

Car: 1989 camaro Rs or iroc clone??
Engine: 5.oh tpi
Transmission: borg warner t5 world class
Axle/Gears: 3.23-GU5
rear main seal tips?(89 camaro)
i can take out the engine and fix it...but can i prevent that?
of course its gonna be a pain either way but, is there any smoother way of swapping a rear main?

I'd like to know too. I dont want to have to pull the engine and tranny to do the mains and oil pan

You must remove the trans, remove the motor mount bolts, jack up the engine, put two boards under the mounts, remove the flywheel, remove all the pan bolts, drop the oil pump into the pan and then remove the pan.
From there you can get at the rear main.
If just the seal, remove the trans and flywheel. Then pry it out and replace.
