Car: 1969 RS Z28 X33 Norwood built
Engine: 383 Stroker
Transmission: T10 4 speed
Re: Need a L98 engine

Just remember that T5 transmission won't handle the torque that the L98 puts out. G92 5 Speed cars are getting harder to find. Maybe it would be better to find an L98 car and put a T56 6 Speed into it.

Thank you! I will keep that in mind. I plan on doing the 6 speed up grade as I already have a mount and a couple other parts for the t56 swap.

Re: Need a L98 engine

The T5 will not "break" just because you put a 350 in front of it. For normal street driving it should last almost forever. Its weakness is sticky drag slicks and hard launches.

Re: Need a L98 engine

I happen to have a very strong Corvette L98 motor with approx. 51k on it attached to a 700R4 with less than 10k miles on it since it was re-built with better than stock parts plus a B&M shift kit and a Hi-Performance racing flex plate still in my '89 Camaro. You don't mention where you live so if you are in the So. Cal area you should PM me if your interested, I'll let you have the whole car for $800.00 or $1,000. for the motor and trans! I'm in Arcadia.
