New owner!

New owner!
Hi everyone! Thought I would introduce myself my name is Aaron and I am buying a 83 Z28 that has a 350 5 speed swap in it. The 350 has a edelbrock carb on it along with the intake manifold. The owner got it from his brother about 8yrs ago and has been sitting for about 3yrs he said. The body is really straight besides a few minor dings over the years. Interior is a bit beat up but has all parts for it. He said that the motor should be rebuilt because its tired but has no knock or anything. So I am going to hopefully pick it up today or just pay him today and set a day after payday on Wed to pick it up since I have to rent a dolly to tow it.
So the only thing I see that needs to be done is of course restoring the car and a new paint job and he said it needs a new ignition and the tach hooked up.
This is going to be a family project for us and super excited about it. I had my buddy that is a big Chevy fan go with me last night to check it out and he approved lol! The car is going to be a toy for us and do some nice cruises with it and hopefully meet some people with the same passion and go to car meets! I have my own car club and we accept all cars but we have 3 camaros already. A 79 with a LS 6 speed swap and 2 72 camaros with 350s in them. So I will be the 4th!
Anyways if anyone has good advice on the car on where to start or just advice in general please feel free to let me know!
Hope to be on the board for yrs to come and hope I can contribute as much as I can!

Hello Aaron
Welcome to the board you'll find slot of info on here about our car
My advice is be careful going WOT on that 5 speed, they can handle pretty well since I'm still running my NWT5

Re: New owner!
Not bad transmission with low power there made for 305 engines not designed for 350 or more the case is weak and twist under power and cracks world class version is slightly better case but you want to swap a lt1 t56 as there rated for more power and better suited to a 350

Re: New owner!
Thanks so much for explaining that! I have no idea what 5 speed it has. I was told it was swapped in with the 350. How can I check to see which one I have?
Sorry total noob to these cars and it's my first Chevy.
I will post pictures of the car when I get home. I am bringing her home Thursday!
