Meeting on the 19th....
Did anyone clear this date with Fred? If not I'll contact him.
I almost forgot about the meeting. I need to switch some plans around. I'm also going to the NAMM show that weekend.

Dude, as an ex-officer (what were you, treasuer ... secratary?) of the de-funct club, I though you would have asked.
Chances are this may be our last time there (of-course I don't see why, but ...), plus we should reconsider a more centralized location. All this (and more) can be discussed there ...

Have I contacted Fred, nope. Am I passing the word along about the meeting date on the 19th, yep. So worst-case scenario is we'll all stand around the parking lot (FOBO) again like last time? I'm not going to have a show-n-tell during the meeting. I figured we should have enough "Real" club things to discuss to get this thing on the right path. But if anyone wants to look at "stuff" I might have in my trunk afterwards, I guess I can accomodate.

It's been a while since we discussed this. I didn't remember hearing that we all decided the 19th was locked in for a meeting date. It was still bouncing around IIRC.
I don't think it will be a problem but I just wanted to stay on top of things. I'll e-mail Fred tonight and confirm the date with him.

You posted the date, we inked it in. Should we have used a pencil instead? I looked for the thread discussing it last week but came up empty. I had to rely on my memory, THAT'S scary. I'm glad we didn't let this go until the last minute as we typically do.

Lon,
I found the thread. Go to the bottom of our forum and set the option for "Last 100 days". The thread is titled "meetings?".
Anywho, I threw the date of the 19th out there twice but there was never a consensus if that was good. Apparently it is.
Most of the posts are "let's go here", "no lets go there".
I'll confirm with Fred and post.

Thanks for the update. Are we planning to also have a meeting 2/2, which is when the next "regular bi-monthly meeting WOULD have been? Some have e-mailed and written "see you at the next meeting 2/2", evidently not aware that the first meeting will be on 1/19. Some members evidently haven’t seen the posts about the new meeting date. I know several that don't post but still show up on the appointed time and date regularly. Lon

Lon,
I guess we'll have to decide on the 2/2 date at the meeting. As far as the other members go, hmmmm, if they don't check this board or the GS3 board, then I think we're kind of stuck. Unless you or someone else can e-mail them.

Lon just proved my case. Would it have really killed us to wait 2 more weeks?
Oh well, the meeting has been scheduled and we can't change that. What we need to do now is make sure everyone that used to attend the de-functed club meeting is aware of the new scheduled meeting date. I would seriously hate to see some of these ex-members be left out due to a rushed schedule to have a meeting to maintain the "core of the club intact".
Let's get a list together of those that we know don't frequent internet sites, such as these, to stay in contact. Lon, if you'd like, send me those person's email addresses and I will make sure they are notified. As well as other I know where to find.

George,
Here's the deal, sure we could just wait till Feb. 2 and hold the meeting according to the old schedule. Now tell me this, who's gonna show up? Hmmmm, who knows.
The SC3GFB has been gone for a couple months now. Anyone who used just the old board and NONE of these others thinks the club is dead and won't be showing up to a meeting for a non-existent club.
Again, I'll re-run how the 19th came to be the date. We were tossing around Jan. 5th, but I thought was too soon and with the holidays not a good day. So I threw out Jan. 19. Nobody ever chimed in and said, "Yeah, the 19th is good."
Instead, the discussion turned to "Why don't we hold the meeting here, No how about there."
The next thing I know people are posting "See ya at the meeting on the 19th." So, that's how we got to where we are.
Nothing is in stone. We do need to meet and get organized, and the sooner the better. But, if everyone wants to wait (which I don't think they do) till Feb. 2, then we'll wait till Feb. 2.
That's my $.02

I've already e-mailed the one person that wrote me thinking the meeting was still on the 2nd regarding the new date. I've e-mailed others that I know attended regularly, but don't post for some reason. I will send out a reminder later today of the meeting date, time & place to everyone I have on my list. Before I do that, are we now set as to which date 19th or 2nd?? Lon

Danny & Natalie are who I was referring to and I've already e-mailed. Also I just sent out an e-mail of 9 MIA's, the only one among them that attended regularly was Brittney. I realize Jason Arebalo is probably still in Japan. Here is the list of MIA's:
Glenn Duensing
Juan Mier
John Brouwers
Graeme Glasgow
Randy Shoultz
Sean D. Casey
Jason Aschle
Jason Arebalo
Brittney Southwell
If you can help let me know.
Thanks,
Lon

Glenn's here, he posts as bluethunder28. So is Sean, how did you miss him? Randy's around, he's on the SCFB list, I dont know if he's here too. The two Jason's I havent heard from in a while, Jason A. not since before Dwayne's party. Graeme's on the SCFB list too. Juan and John I have no idea. Thats who I know is around.
EDIT: And its still 5pm, right?

OK I've got Sean & Glenn updated on my list now. I mistakenly thought the e-mail addy Sean uses here was the same one that was bouncing. Glenn showed no e-mail addy on his Thirdgen Member profile, but he responded to my inquiry via a "private e-mail". Nice feature they added when this site upgraded. Two down, seven to go. Lon

Brittney's still here...
I have just been observing and dealing with all the stress and drama following me...within the last 2 months I have got into an accident in my moms 78 K5 Blazer(Blondie wife in her husbands F*rd F250 couldnt stop in time so with out looking she swerved into me
and spun me out and I went over the curb and into a newpaper stand/dispenser....not too much damage, just cosmetic and already fixed, and it was about a block away from Val. Chevy) I will most likey be driving that to the meeting
...Its a big Chevy..it still counts right? acually it could of been alot worse if I would of been in my Firebird...possible fatal or sever injurys, her truck was raised up as high as our truck and if it werent for the tow hitch on our truck I can drive my car under it until the windshield so that could of taken off my head..
On top of that(btw she claimed I rear ended her-one tiny problem...no damage to her rear and no damage to my front-just my side...and I won in the end) my family bought a cabin in Crestline(nice curvy drive up..
hehe) and at the end of the first of 2 weeks up there my dad dropped the garage door on himself and broke and blew-out his knee so I had to drive him to the nearest hospital 30 mins away up at Lake Arrowhead...not fun..then he was gimpy for the rest of the trip!! I have had 4 huge projects due within one week, finals, and no job..AND of course my baby-the 'Bird- is still sitting in the garage!!!! SO that is why I havent been around much but I will definatly try to get to the meeting, you'll see me in the big loud Blazer...
As for Greame I can call him I have been meaning to tell him what happend and where we went, but dont count on him showing up...hes always got some excuse
!!

Looks like I have to pass on the meeting this time. My wife is out of town on biz till Monday so I am full time dad this weekend
I don't think I should subject you to my 2 year little girl (even though she is well mannered for her age).
I was really looking forward to FINALLY meeting people on this list.

I'm still around too :-)
Lurking.... silent.... vigilent.... etc, etc.
I'd love to hang out with you guys again but in the time I've been MIA I got married and also as a matter of fact my wife is due any minute now with our first baby!
And I've been using the GTA as a daily driver and it looks very sorry indeed. I ran over a plastic trash can on the freeway and it left a hole in my passenger door. I even hit a seagull that dented my antenna so much that it won't go down anymore! And the paint is so faded on the roof that it looks like a skunk :-(
Anyway, have fun at the meeting!

Juan, congrats buddy. I thought I had heard that you got married, but
you are now having a baby. Congrats on that too.
Hope to see you (and the wife and kid) someday soon.

Juan,
Big time congrats man!
Keep us more in the loop next time. We could've had a big F-body get-together to help you celebrate!

Congrats Juan! Looks like I'm going to have to miss. My eldest daughter is throwing a b'day party Sat. night for my youngest.
I'm on call this week, but if I don't get called out, I need to be at the party.
