83 conv in OC

I just a 1983 Z28 Hardtop that was converted to a convertible today at the Ralphs grocery in Buena Park. Anyone know this guy? It was really WEIRD to see. The license plate is "83 conv". I would really like to know where he got the top converted as I need some parts for mine custom fabbed. All OC guys be on the look out there's a sweet Z out there. It may not be OEM but it sure was original and it looked sweet. The top had to be from a mid to late eighties corvette top. It made me look twice. If that guy is reading this post, you've got a sweet car man. L8R

Paging TDS!!!

You might want to email a Member of this board whose handle is lonsal, he owns and operates a Thirdgen Parts company, he has a couple parts for our Convertibles that he has custom fabbed. If you have anything in mind I would leave a post for him or lookup his profile and send him an email

The name of his company is TDS Top Down Solutions

I have a couple of his parts already installed on my 92 Vert and they are working great!

We had spoken before along time ago... but I thought he only deals in 89-92 parts... I have an 88 :-( So I am up the creek I guess... I would really like new plastic pieces. As well I need the entire toneau locking pieces as I had to fab my own lock to lock the topdown... My power latch doesn't work either... I would like to get the top back into original working condition even though I have power leather seats and an LS1 on it's way

Thee were at least 6 companies doing ragtop conversions starting as far back as '82. That was likely one of those. I imagine it had a snap on boot or tonneau to cover the top when down. All those aftermarket conversions pretty much stopped when the factory ones hit the market. I seriously doubt this was a recent conversion. Why would soemone enter such a limited market? Yes there are people that would like their coupes or t-top cars converted. I advise them to sell that car and buy a car that is already converted. There are so many special parts that went into a convertible conversion. As you must know those convertibles that do get scrapped are quickly snatched up for parts for existing 'verts. Lon
