Can we get a pic of how this looks Tony? I really need a new dash but they're kinda hard to find these days. This might be a good alternative. Thanks!

Anyone ever use one of these or know how they look/fit? Been trying to find a new dash pad for my gta in Canada but haven't had any luck so I am considering one of these.
Some of the guys out here have bought these from us.They look great. It'll clean up a cracked dash pretty good.

It's a pretty big piece, and plastic is a petrolium based product.Originally Posted by xxCamaroXX09
Well pricing is to high fr a piece of plastic why is that. i still would like to see an installed pic of this and hear some comment from those who have them. maybe ill try to get one and do a review after the holidays.

i recently installed one of these on my camaro and followed all instructions thoroughly but it has never settled right and is bubled up in several places.....anything i could do to fix it?
Did you install in over your old dash pad? and were there any pieces missing from it?
Member
Yes I installed over existing dash and no pieces were missing however it wouldn't slide all the way upon the dash.....does it need to be trimmed cause the front is a lot longer than it needs to be
It should site fairly flush with the dash. Did you purchase it through us?
Member
Yes Its been installed for a while.....I only put glue around the edges but it looks like it needs glue in the middle area.....been meaning to pull the dash pad off And retry it but haven't had the time

Can you post some pictures of it? I'd like to see what kind of problems I need to avoid.
I had a carpet type cover over my dash because it had a few small splits. I just discovered the splits grew across the dash under the pad. Therefore im going to purchase one myself within the next week or two and post it as well.

so did anyone get it installed
Mine didn't survive a single West Texas summer. The heat caused it to bubble like an overcooked pizza.
Was a beautiful piece and went in well though.

Was it over a period of time or was it one bad event? In your opinion, would cracked open windows, a windshield sunscreen, or carpet type dashmat over the top of it have helped?Originally Posted by Scoundrel

Accuform recommends that in warmer climates you park the vehicle in the shade, and also use a sun shade to help keep direct sunlight off of it.

Trying not be a smart a**, but the one piece of my interior that receives the most sunlight I need to keep it out of the sun? I will roll with my cracked dash. I am too lazy and absolutely hate sun shades.

This is nothing against 1A, they don't make these covers, it's the same cover you can get from lots of other places. But I would avoid these covers if you are looking for something that looks good. I've had one in my car for a few months now while I've been looking for a non cracked dash to replace it.
If this thing was only 30 to 50 dollars it might be an acceptable temporary use item, but for 162 dollars it's no where near worth it.
Mine went on smooth and looked ok at first. Within a couple of days in heat (not direct sunlight, just general 100 degree August heat in SC) it had bubbled in places where I did not apply glue. It bubbled especially bad up right behind the defrost vents (I applied glue all the way around the edge of the defrost vent spot but it doesn't fit the vents very snug so some of the glue wasn't strong enough to stick in the heat.
Also one of the worse things about it bubbles aside, the sides of it do not extend down under the dash. So when you open the door you can see a clear lip / line where the cover stops.
What this thing needs is a less heat effected material, or either the entire thing needs to be covered in adhesive to prevent bubbling.
