Hollow VS Solid sway-bars

I have a front sway bar from a 87 GTA that I was thinking about installing on my 82-Z28. I didn't measure either of the bars, but the GTA bar is larger in diameter.
I was getting ready to swap it in, when I noticed the GTA bar is much lighter than the Z28 bar.
Apparently it's a hollow one.
The bends are slightly different but still looks like it will work.
Other than weight, are there any other advantages/disadvantages?
Would the 87 GTA bar be a better choice for a street car that may someday see some autocross action?

The rear sway bar has already been swapped-in (along with the rear-end) from the GTA.

it's probably a 36mm bar.

It will be fine for your intentions.
