how much stiffer are convertible springs?

I read that the front springs on convertibles are stiffer to make up for chassis flex, but how much stiffer are they? The situation is this....I'm putting Eibach pro-kit springs in my vert, more for the lowering than for performance, but I want use the stock springs from the vert in my malibu. In the front, I want to cut half a coil, and in the back I'll leave them as is with the rubber spring isolator needed to make them work in G-bodies. I'm not looking to go autocrossing or anything, I'm just trying to use what I got to make it handle less like a yacht. At the same time I will be rebuilding the front end with Performance Suspension Components graphite impregnated polyurethane bushings, KYB shocks and front and rear sway bars. I know cutting coils increases the spring rate, so am I asking for trouble if I use the convertible springs?

stiffer springs would not help chassis flex....if ne thing they would cause more by not letting the suspenstion absorb the bumps.
