I was lookin into converting my 82' Z28 to manual brakes...I saw that MP Brakes has a new master cylinder, pushrod, and adapter plate for about $150...Has anyone done this?? I just want to know how it good it works and if it's a pain to stop

Man, I hope this isn't a street car......
These things are hard enough to stop with power brakes.

There is not a car manufactured in years that has manual brakes. Simple reason- power brakes work better. In fact they just plain work. Manuals don't unless you have legs like Arnold Swarts-n-namerabobber.

LOL ...Yeah that's what I heard i'm just asking because i'm looking to loose a few extra pounds and gain a little extra room in my engine compartment...Right now even though I have a vacuum canister at times it's like having manual brakes

Search on the racing board for my posts on how I converted to manual brakes. Guido is currently swapping over and has been asking similar questions.

I have no problems stopping at the end of the 1/4 mile with manual brakes. If properly setup they'll work just a good as power brakes. They just take a bit more effort to stop.
