Sway bars- IROC or aftermarket?

Is there a noticeable difference in handling between the sway bars that came on some IROCS (the hollow 36 mm front, don't remember size for back) and aftermarket sway bars? If its the same thing, then I guess I'll be keeping an eye out for them next time I got to the junkyard. Otherwise, I guess I'm going to start looking into some aftermarket sway bars.

ditto .. the factory 1LE/WS6 hollow bar is about the best you can buy at ANY price .. all the racers are using the factory bar with a spherical rod end style convertion .. Like ground control's kit .. The only aftermarket bars I've seen are actually smaller .. 34 mm versus 36 .. last I heard no one makes a 36 mm bushing though :\

Spohn sells the 36mm sway bar. Guldstrand Motorsports makes a 36mm sway bar bushing.

How big of a difference would there be from my factory sway bars to a set of 1LE or WS6 bars? I have no clue what size my stock bars are, but its an RS, so there should be room for improvement.

Im debating this purchase right now myself. BMR has SOLID front and rear bars that are smaller in diameter but 40% stiffer than a 1LE bar or so there ad claims. Has anyone used these?

I personally like the idea of having a solid bar over a hollow one.

Should anyone be searching for the 1LE/WS6 bars, please see my ad in the classifieds.

i switched sway bars a couple years ago... it made a huge diffrence. of course there is more to getting the car to turn the way you want, then just swaybars, but it will make a very noticable diffrence.

92BLUE, look in here for your stock bar size:

Also, all Irocs didn't come with 36mm bars up front. Mine came with a hollow 34 bar and a 24mm solid rear bar. My '91 RS came with the hollow 34mm front bar and a 21mm rear bar, but the same springs as the Iroc. It handles just as good, too. I've put a 24mm rear bar on it. It just doesn't accelerate the same. New bushings and end links do a world of good.

yea the majority of race camaros out there atcually use the stock IROC sway bars. But for me imma buy aftermarket. Cause they have these fat ones that are also solid and not hollow. I know its not super good for handing to be super stiff and what not. But I'm doing it for the drift anyways. Dont really matter to me.
