I will soon be offering such a kit. Completely painless, and includes everything. Even gear oil! I will keep you posted.

This kit will also work on converting the early 3rdgen disc brake rears to the later (PBR) style disc brakes.

I really is a pretty slick setup.

Thanx,ANDYZ28

Yeah, that sounds great!

So it means I can take my 86 drum rear and just install your disk brake setup in place of the drums?

Whoa, that will be slick :hail:

What about the master cylinder? I've heard that even GM allowed the use of the drum master cylinder in disk rear upgrades.

The drum/disc cylinder was used for the 1LE. It's the proportioning valve you need to change.

Andy, I hope you don't mind me jumping the gun on this, but
Tas, I just installed ANDYZ28's preliminary kit and it actually was
painless!

Everything I needed was sent right to my doorstep, and with a
buddy's help, common sense, a few handtools, and a manual, I
tried out the brakes within about 4 hours!

I am totally pleased with the support I've received, quality of
materials and speed that I received the kit!!

I will be getting more stuff from you later Andy!

Hope this helps your decision Tas!

I have never driven an LS1 equipped car. They are all "ABS" equipped. So a comaprison would be very had to make.

These are 1LE spec. But the backing plate is much beefier. The original 3rdgen "PBR" backing plate is a stamping and rather flimsy. Mine is a dramatic improvement.

I will have many quality images of this conversion on my NEW "CD".

I am attaching an image to illustrate this point:
